Measured in megabits (MB), gigabits (GB) and terabits (TB), this is the amount available for storing files, music, movies, photos and more. The total includes the capacity of the hard disk drive and solid state drive if both are included on the computer.

I know this may be petty but this move to eco friendly is nuts when you're talking about a flash drive. $1 will power this thing for 2 years. SanDisk "start" putting lights back on the flash drives. I have a titanium Cruzer that is probably the best flash drive I have ever owned but it is too small(2GB). We need to know they are working and are finished with the transfer, put the LED back into the system. The gripes are over! This thing works very well, even in a 2.0 USB slot it seems to transfer 1.5 times faster than the 2.0 USB flash drive. I have not tried it in a 3.0 port but I am sure it will work as advertised. I would reccomend this to a friend if they don't mind the lack of a LED.

Pushing this USB drive with a Windows 7 OS, this can read easily at 190 to 200mb/s on a 3.0 port, and even 120 to 140 on a 2.0. USB. Write speeds are at 130 mb/s which is fantastic for a device under $60 with 32 gigs of memory. I was fortunate enough to find the very last 32 gig from SanDisk in the store. Very compact design makes it easy to fit alongside other USB devices. This company along with Kingston are the only two manufacturers in my opinion that make reliable, encrypted, secure and sturdy devices out there. You could pay 20 bucks for a very cheap no-name but after my friends died for no reason other than formatting, it pays to go with something that is trustworthy. And also the 3.0 is so much better than a 2.0 when it comes to transferring large video files, photos, documents are usually not that big.
Bottom line would recommend this flash drive for anyone, especially those pushing large file data. And the exception is something that you can turn on or off but it will slow down slightly the write speed.

This flash drive has the memory and speed capacity to make dealing with large numbers of pictures and videos a breeze compared to much slower flash drives.

Lots of capacity and very fast

Good price, I was surprised at just how fast compared to the 2.0. Connector slides back for a more compact unit that is less prone to damage.

Blazing Fast Speeds
Posted by: Omnias from: Austin, Texas on
I tested this on both Windows and OSX, on USB 2.0 and 3.0 with about 5GB of files. Although the 2.0 was not nearly as fast, it was still faster than normal 2.0 drives with a write of about 20MB/s. On OSX and USB 3.0, speeds were 240+ Read and 210+ write, tested on the 15" rMBP late 2013 model, which means the SSD probably helped to keep up with the drive, whereas a Hard Disk Drive may experience throttling. The only thing about this is that the Sandisk Ultra USB 3.0, also a very good drive, can go on sale for a considerably cheaper price of about $20 for 32GB at BestBuy, with speeds up to 80MB/s. However, if you want the Fastest speeds and the most Reliable USB 3.0 drive on the market, get this one.

Very good speed and value

I get a transfer rate of 2GB in 60 sec with a USB 3.0, and over 6 minutes with a USB 2.0.
However, when I copy from the computer's internal hard drive with 7400rpm to a portable external hard drive with 5400rpm, I get a transfer rate of 2GB in 18 sec.
Portable external drive is still the best, but the USB is more easier to carry around.
