The optics are great....It performs flawlessly!...optics are larger than the filters I own and all I could find in town (day before I left) was a cheap really cheap polarizer.($50) It helped cut through the early morning fog, but it would keep the picture from being tack sharp....THE ONLY DRAW BACK IS THE LENS GETS HEAVY WITH TIME BUT I USE A MONOPOD WHICH HELPS RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

Very Sharp...Good deal...I usually take portrait photos (and this creates beautiful bokeh) but this lens also works great for indoor events especially since the wide aperture allows a lot of light to flow in....It's built really well, and seems like it should last for plenty long enough for to get good use of it and lots more practice before feeling the desire to upgrade.
