Great buy...Great HD...Worked through WD customer support, but in the end, sometimes it was visible to my MacBook, and sometimes it would not show up...sometimes I was able to connect to the drive when it was visible, and sometimes I could not....Excellent storage space Files accessible anywhere you are Secure connection, preventing intruders Easy to access and operate when remotely far Not so great is that is kind of complicated to configure Tried to transfer large files from remote connection (different cities) and it couldnt finish Friends are accessing and sharing music and photos with extreme easiness In overall its a nice device.

Great buy!...I am good....That said, once I got it running smoothly with NO WD software, it is doing exactly what I bought it for: a wireless in-home, secure (I hope) shared file system for multiple computers - devices....People complain about slow speed but this drive is fast it depends how you are connected wireless always going to be slow thats just how it is, not the drive thats slow its your network.
With a 2TB capacity and a Gigabit Ethernet interface, this WD My Cloud external network-attached storage device lets you easily save files via your existing Dropbox or other Cloud account and access them from devices connected to your home network.
Great NAS....I love it....It's nice to access the cloud, however it seems like you can only access and not download the files to other devices so for example you put a picture from the pc and you look at it on your phone you will not be able to pull that picture to your album unless you do a screenshot....All my files are automatically backed up without me having to think twice about it and they are all easily accessed anywhere in the free mobile app from my phone or through the my cloud website.

Great item...works well...Bought this to add additional storage alongside my 2TB My Cloud--so far great and should go a long way toward meeting our storage needs....I have had MyCloud for a coupe of months and it is as stated great for storing all documents and pics and can access them from my phone and tablet and my laptop when on the road or at home and the file is changed on any device and the change is good on all devices.

Great NAS!...Great NAS!!...The file access speed when you are using it off of the same wifi network is just as fast as if I was loading or saving something to a thumb drive....Until the technology improves and allows the direct connection to my home network (versus wireless to improve speed) and it just overall works better and smoother...I think I will wait for an updated version.

Over my standard AT&T wifi router the drive is somewhat fast....So far this one is much snappier and I have had no issues....My entire network is mostly wireless and all is well....I was looking at other alternatives but at the price this can not be beat since it includes the drives and comes ready to go out of the box with very little else required on your part.
