Great Deal...Great len....Manual override focus ring is conveniently placed....I love that because it is a prime it has the ability to have f 1.8 and nice bokeh. It is pretty decent on pricing but what draws me back is that sometimes in the photos the subject is only somewhat in focus and what I mean by that is that even though the subject is same distance the edges of the subject at 1.8 can sometimes be a little blurred.

Plus, the f/1.8 maximum aperture is ideal for creating softly blurred backgrounds and shooting in low light.
Fantastic lens!...I love the bokeh....Found myself getting better pics in manual mode....Optically, the lens performs flawlessly, though as others have noted, it can hunt for focus if you rely on AF in low light conditions.

Very fast focusing and crystal clear....ease to use....The one ting I have found is that the manual focus works better then the autofocus when I am taking pics of my turtles....(I did too before purchasing it) 18-250mm is pretty good for my use.

Good lens....Nice lens...Like the option of auto focus or manual focus with this lens....upon purchasing this lens, I forgot to make sure it had image stabilization (which upon further research is a much much more expensive option) so ended up using my 55-250mm kit lens more often.

If you are a hobbyist or a pro on a tighter budget I would say the Rokinon is a better bang for the buck and is 90% of the lens for about 45% of the price, with a smaller size/weight advantage....It is wonderfully made, rock solid and metal....Making up for the size is the 11 blade iris which gives off a very smooth and circular bokeh (most lenses are 7-9 blade) and a manual aperture ring that can also be de clicked for smooth adjustment....I have been using the Sel50f14z lens for a couple of days, and I am impressed.
