First a really stable tripod n head are a must for consistently sharp pics....I'm loving this lens (180mm sigma f2.8 macro).I'm learning there is a learning curve with long macros....Build quality seems great....Aesthetically beautiful .

Caveat: try your camera body with the lens before buying if possible because it has been my experience that some sigma lenses just work better with some canon bodies!...Bought this for my wife who loved her Non IS sigma version but really wanted the IS for hand holding since she didnt want to be carrying the tripod around ALL the time....The best macro lens I've ever use.
