Customers value the Cyber-shot RX100's superb image and video quality, along with its compact size and ease of use. Many appreciate its performance in low-light conditions and the range of features it offers. However, some users find the flash design inconvenient and the price point relatively high. A few also expressed concerns about the screen's durability.
The sensor in the RX100 is the same 1" format that Nikon uses in its 1-System. It is considerably smaller than those used in most interchangeable lens cameras but it significantly larger than those used in most enthusiast compacts. Conclusion - Pros Excellent image quality and solid ISO performance Class-leading movie features and quality A good degree of customization puts your favorite settings at your fingertips Fast operation, including focus and Raw capture Flexible lens range (though a brighter zoom would have been nice) Excellent range of additional features (sweep panorama and auto HDR in particular) Good battery life for this class of camera USB-charging (with fast charger) makes it easy to travel light Conclusion - Cons Clickless control dial contributes to vague and unengaging shooting experience Flash metering is unpredictable Lack of ND filter can limit the ability to use wide apertures Screen hard to see in direct sunshine, despite WhiteMagic technology No official option to fit filters onto the lens (third-party glue-on adapters are available) In-camera raw conversion would add flexibility Playback confusingly separated into stills, MP4 and AVCHD sections Lag when trying to zoom in playback mode is irksome USB-only charging makes it awkward to use a spare battery

love this camera. Excellent photo and video. Works great alone side my HX90V. I use the RX100 for low light photography, and the HX90V for the long zoom reach. I know have the RX10, A6000 with the SEL35F18 as a tandem. What I really like about the RX100, is the size and photo quality of this little camera. I find myself using it more than the others. I still think its the best point and shoot camera to buy under $500.00 Photo just to show that I own the cameras.

This is a great camera. I'm a novice so it was a little confusing at first but then I realized for every option or feature you can hit the ? button and it explains what the function option means so all the options and settings are not as confusing or scary. It took me a few hours to understand the basics because I ? every option vs trying to study manual. It also has a way to save favorite option setting choices to scroll through that you might use more often. It is great in low light, sunny, panoramic, foggy all settings. Indoors at night in low light like a bar scene I don't even need a flash in fact I haven't even used the flash yet. Megapixels are great. Every shot comes out great. Pictures included are hand held shots no tripod because I don't have one yet. Zoom feature is really great also. The defocused background can get a little confusing but you can widen the area so it focuses more of the picture and if you zoom it tends to pick up the background more like in my sunset pic with tree branch hanging down in front of me, the sunset came in clearer which is what I wanted. Love Love Love this camera. Click on the photo tiles below, the tiles look blurry but not the shot when you open it ;)
