With a noise-canceling design, these Sony MDRZX110NC/B over-the-ear headphones prevent unwanted outside noises from interfering with your listening experience. The Supra-Aural technology and 30mm drivers provide dynamic, clear tones.

Disappointing Performance from Quality Brand
Posted by: Nate from: on
These Sony noise-cancelling headphones are a classic case of "you get what you pay for..."
1. Can listen to audio when the noise cancelling feature is turned off
2. While the noise cancelling isn't as good as some high-dollar headphones, it is pretty effective.
3. Sound quality is good (when the noise cancelling is turned on)
The Not Good
1. The Best Buy website calls these "over-the-ear" headphones. Unless your ears are the size of quarters, these are more like "on-the-ear" headphones
2. Sound quality is noticeably muffled when noise cancelling is turned off
3. Cord is less then 3-feet long
4. Batteries only last around 10 hours. While that isn't horrible, it isn't great either.
5. No microphone or remote for answering calls

Great Basic Noise Canceling Headphones
Posted by: ladnek5 from: on
These Sony headphones work well, fold up nicely for my backpack while traveling, and provide good sound while plugged into my phone for music. These are not "high end" headphones thus do not carry the high end headphone price. But if you are looking for a good pair of noise canceling, over the ear, headphones for travel at a great price.... stop looking and just get these.

Greats for price

Tried the earlier model that was replaced. This one works much better when you activate the noise cancelling feature. I've been able to sleep through the construction next door in the mornings. The on-ear is much more comfortable than I expected, also. Great new model by Sony.

Great basic headphones

As I was preparing for a hospital stay, I realized I NEEDED headphones. So off to Best Buy to pick up something inexpensive. My ears get tired of ear buds after a short while, so I only considered over-the -ear type. These Sony headphones fit the bill perfectly with the added bonus of have noise-canceling technology. Hospitals can be very noisy and these helped my drown out the unwanted noise while being comfortable enough to wear while sleeping.

Didn't Cancel Outside Noise
Posted by: Kristin from: on
Returned this item before I was even out of the Best Buy parking lot! Didn't cancel outside noises (even with battery installed) and I could NEVER wear these for more than 30 minutes and I needed them for most of the day wear. Very uncomfortable on top of the head and on ears. These are padded but don't fit OVER the ears completely, they sit ON your ears. I spent an extra $50 on a headset by SkullCandy that weren't sold as noise-cancelling but were much better quality (still cheaper than other noise-cancelling sets) and I can wear them all day -- and they sound great. Don't buy this product unless you only need something for short periods of time, your outside noises aren't very loud and you have to have something super foldable/collapsable.

I bought these headphones right before a series of flights and they've been life savers. On one recent last-minute trip I ended up seated directly next to the deafening engine. Put the 'phones and some music on ... no problem. On the flight back, I was ahead of to rows of noisy kids, and again: headphones on, could hardly hear a peep.
Things I'd change: rechargeable, rather than AAA batteries, and the on/off switch built in, because it's too easy to forget to turn off the manual switch.

Great for the money

You can pay six times more for a little bit better, but for the price, these on ear noise cancelling headphones work great.

Cancels noise alright

Construction is a little flimsy - the cover securing the battery compartment fell off in my luggage. Very lightweight and comfortable.

Good noise cancelling for the price.

i bought these as a gift for my wife. she has been very impressed by the quality for the price compared to the competition. My only "complaint" would be that I would like better battery life, but that is a minor complaint. the earphones sound pretty good even with the NC turned off.
