The vivid and crisp images really shined thru as we visited Independence Hall in Philly, the Capitol and Whitehouse in D.C. abd the Niagara Falls and downtown Manhattan in New York

I purchased this video camera just in time for the school award ceremonies for my 11 and 9 years and our east coast vacation. The video camera is very easy to use. I could not be more pleased with the HD quality of the video which is outstanding! The audio is good but could be improved to match the video. Overall, excellent value for the Sony HD Camera!

The AX100 is really a great camcorder has many professional features and is quite a light package. The camera produces stunning images with crisp detail. The built in audio recording is above average but I decided to purchase the hot shoe mount and I was able to add my XLR shotgun mic and zoom recorder for better audio production. The camera performs well in lowlight however I noticed a little noise which would be expected. I was shocked to find out that when monitoring video through a separate monitor you cannot record in 4K, the screen will go black. 1080i and 1080p records just fine. This was almost a deal breaker however I was able to make up for it by using the cameras built in wifi feature and connecting my smartphone to the built in network. The connection was flawless with no noticeable lag. I'm also able to link my smartphone to the monitor if I need a larger viewing surface. I have to deduct a start because of the 4K recording failure when viewing through a monitor, no internal storage, and no built in XLR component. All in all I am extremely satisfied with the Sony Ax100.

The large 1" sensor makes a huge difference comparing to the competitors. Even if you shoot a tree with a number of branches against the sun even in this case you won't get any distortions or blur around the tree parts. I'm impressed. It makes a great quality video. The video files are saving in 1 part, one button click - 1 file. That's very convenient. Having a large SDXC card, say, 128 or more and a huge battery can give 4-6 hours of non stop 4k video, which is great. I tested the camcorder in a dark room recording a fashion show and was very impressed with the results.

Good 4k camera with excellent picture quality and features. Menu on touch screen could be set up better. A bit more magnification would have been nice. Note the remote control 835 says it works with the AX100, it doesn't.

Outstanding images! You get what you pay for. Just be aware if you plan on recoding footages in 4K, it will cost you $$...64gb($60 on sale) memory card will only give you 2 hours of 4K recording space. Overall this camcorder is excellent for the average joe if u want to spend the money.
