Played this during a bbq and had the cops come by for noise complaint. Beyond impressive sound and bass. Great buy.

Very impressive unit

The reviews can't even compare to what this thing is capable of sounding like. I use this for an outdoor speaker on our deck.

Great Speaker for Large Events
Posted by: Chase from: on
If you are looking for a loud speaker with booming bass, you should purchase this speaker. KNOW, that this is not a speaker built for small single person listening while you're in your room, this speaker is made for parties and large events. The bass is impeccable and the sound quality is 9/10 for the size of the speaker. Great job Sony!

An Odd Piece of Equipment, Perfect for Me
Posted by: TableRocked from: on
I purchased this solely for use when my family is using our Epson HD 2045 LCD Projector outside for moving night in the backyard. I'm using a Roku streaming stick in the HDMI port of the projector, and needed something with minimal cords to play movie soundtracks for a group of folks in lawn chairs. This thing has 450 watts of outdoor home theatre pumping sound! The Bose Soundlink 30 was taken back due to price for value, not loud enough, not enough bass as well as it didn't work with Windows 10 PC's.
My setup is a 3.5 mm audio cable, 20' coiled from Best Buy, out from the LCD projector into the RCA plugs on the Sony speaker, and we should be set.
Plan to have an entire weekend of Clint Eastwood films on a 120" screen while a campfire is burning on the shores of Table Rock Lake.
For those above 40, don't be scared of the flashing LED's and strobe features of this speaker system, it can be switched off with the free smart phone Sony app.

This Is A Must Have Bluetooth Stereo
Posted by: tommytunes from: New York on
Everything about this System is heavy duty, from the exterior to the way it sounds, It has a bass boost feature that you really don't have to use because there's enough for normal listening, the Bluetooth connects right away....the Songpal app has an equalizer for the sound that suits your needs, the built in neon and strobe lights are cool if you're having a party. There are pairing buttons on the back if you want to add a second one and a button if you just want to add another Bluetooth speaker to it.....FYI All speakers need to be broken in ( like a pair of shoes) for at least 30 to 40 hours of play time the more you use it the better the sound quality gets......buy this you won't be disappointed

Overwhelming Greatest Buy Ever!

We were pricing a sound system for an outdoor pavilion, and happened to try this Sony Bluetooth speaker! Instead of a $2000 installed system, we have a speaker that sounds like a big system and is extremely portable!! Plus! The lights in the speaker give any occasion a party atmosphere!! We are pleasantly surprised and the cost was less than $500.00!!

Superb Sound, Beats Bose 4 Outdoor Home Theatre
Posted by: TableRocked from: on
Amazing unit, tons and tons of sound with superb bass.... kids love the lights, they can be shut off, thank goodness. I use this mainly for my outdoor theatre. It streams Netflix soundtracks and pumps out the bass and treble extremely well for a compact system. Rugged construction. Perfect for the kids to take to the basketball court. Cheaper and sounds better than the Bose Soundtouch 30 (I took it back). Bluetooth works flawlessly with laptops, phones, Mac, Windows 10 (Bose doesn't). Way more bass and more room filling sound than Bose.

Convenient, easy to use - great sound.

LOUD! Nice bass. Walked into a Best Buy looking to see if anyone made a traditional "stereo" that wasn't a home theater system - a tuner, amp, set of speakers, etc. This Sony speaker was on demo mode and really loud and clear - even in competition with the100 other devices blaring. Once home, I found it produced great sound easily from my android phone, iPad, or a flash drive I made for my car. Don't expect component-quality ($1,500) sound. But for the size, cost and ease of use, I don't think you can even come close to beating this speaker.
