I LOVE THIS AIR CONDITIONER!!!
Posted by: wenfot from: Seattle, WA on
I live in an apartment that has eastern exposure and no cross breeze. It gets horribly hot. This air conditioner cools it down in about 45 minutes. If I leave it on before I go to work and then come home, my apartment is totally cool. Not too loud. My cat even likes it.

Very Good Portable A/C
Posted by: Gilbert from: on
Well this SPT/14,000 Btu air conditioner has been terrific so far;
We’ve had it for about two months now, and have used it steadily
almost every day without a single problem, or without having to
drain the water reservoir…what a blessing.
We have a (2nd) smaller 10,000 Btu portable A/C, (different brand)
that requires draining the water about every 2-3 hours, and it’s
hooked it up to a one (1) gallon water bottle at the center-outlet,
not the bottom plug, otherwise we’d have to drain it every 45 min or so.
Anyway, I’m very happy that we purchased the SPT/14,000

Exceeded my expectations

I live in a 90 year old building that does not allow window units. I bought this unit thinking it will only take the edge off (10 degree max reduction) the hot summers in Denver (mid 90's) since that has been my experience in the past with other portable ACs. However, It has proven to be nothing like the others. It keeps my place at about 68-70 degrees when it's 90+ degree weather. The cold air circulates well through my 550 sq ft. Condo. It was a easy set up (I have crank- shift windows and used plexi glass to create a window for installation), and the design is not an eye sore. I'm very pleased with the unit and only regret not buying it sooner.

Works like a champ!

I was leery about buying one of these portable air conditioners but took a chance with this. We have it in a large open living area of about 750SF. At outdoor temps approaching 100 with all windows and doors shut and a ceiling fan on (important) the unit still keeps this large space reasonably comfortable. Between 80-90 outdoors works great. Downside is that it doesn't exactly beautify the space but I'll trade that for comfort. It's also heavy and hard to move up and down stairs. I considered instead buying a window A/C but then you're stuck with it year round. All in all a reasonable compromise.

ALOT of bang for your buck!!

This is a great A/C unit; very easy to install and instantly cools the room. I bought it for the transition between my not cooling so well central A/C unit until my new central unit could be installed. It was a great purchase and greatly eased the "heat" on some of the hotest days of the summer.

I purchased this for my grandmother and it works really well. It keeps her condo very cool and is very low maintenance.

My new air conditioner is great! It's more compact than my old one. It keeps my room cool and the air filtered to keep my allergies down. I love it!

Great little A/C unit!!
Posted by: joejoemojo from: on
After reading the reviews, I purchased this A/C unit and couldn't be happier. I have a nearly 1,000 square foot condo with a loft, that sits in the sun all day and this little unit cools it down nicely. It's about as noisy as a motel room A/C unit. I have it near my tv in my living room and it doesn't affect my tv viewing. Nice being able to program it too. I recommend it.

Not as powerful as I thought it would be. Very easy to operate and maintain. Good for mid size living room. Does not show current room temperature
