Best Tracker I have owned
Posted by: ATVGUY from: Here on
I thought I loved my Fitbit until I got the Striiv Touch.
4. Support/Customer Service
5. Caller ID/Notifications.
6. Easy to read and use touch screen.
1. Sleep part of the app does not show times throughout night. Just shows a graph with start, end time, and total sleep time.
My Fitbit tended to show about a 10% over on my steps, and this one about a 2% under, so great accuracy.
Keep in mind some of the negatives are for things like "doesn't work with my phone", "Doesn't have the xxx feature". However, the web site does show what phones it supports and what features it currently has. Some complaints are legitimate for specific people I am sure, but just keep things in perspective when reading some of the reviews.

Great Tracker/Smart Watch (After a Few Updates)
Posted by: DirectorSD from: Michigan on
Bought this after comparing to fitbit Flex, Polar Loop and others. Seemed to have best features vs price.
At first worked OK, although sync seemed a bit flakey. Then seemed to "freeze up" (after 4 days use). Submitted Customer Care ticket with Striiv, and after one day of waiting actually had half a dozen emails back and forth within the same afternoon trying to diagnose issue. Concluded that an upcoming firmware update would probably fix, but possible unit was defective. Returned to Best Buy for no-questions-asked exchange (yea Best Buy).
New unit working flawlessly as advertised. Did receive new firmware update upon first sync. Does good job of tracking steps and sleep patterns. Now syncs almost real-time with iPhone, plus provides on-wrist notifications of emails, txts, and phone calls. How cool is that?
Very good device and what seems to be really good customer service.

Good Product for the Price
Posted by: jcscherr from: Baton Rouge, LA on
First, let me confess my main interest in this watch is that it doesn't have a stainless steel back. I am allergic to metals, and I have worn this watch for three weeks with no itching, rash or open sores. Yay! The size is also good for a woman's wrist, all the other products I looked at were wider than my wrist and way too clunky.
The second feature I like is that I receive phone notifications so I stop missing calls and texts while I am at home and not carrying my phone around with me every second. It seems to have good range, and I like the discreet vibration alert instead of an audible text. I also receive meeting notifications, which is a nice perk. The app must be open on my phone in order to receive these notifications, it's not like a bluetooth headset in that respect. Makes sense once you think about it, but it does run down my phone battery so I need to charge my phone every day (Samsung Galaxy S4). Battery life on the Touch has been running about 3-4 days, depending on how much I am checking time/activity/notifications.
Step counter seems fairly accurate, as much as I would expect for something on my wrist, anyway. I haven't tried the game on the app, but just the step count/distance motivates me to be more active.
This is a new product so it is still a bit buggy, but excellent customer support and they continue to issue firmware updates to improve the product. I traded e-mails with them on the connectivity issues, and they issued a firmware update 7/17 that has dramatically improved connection. I sometimes need to restart the app, and less often need to restart the Touch to get it communicating with my phone again. The app notifies you an update is available, and you decide when to do it because you need to keep the Touch close to your phone for a few minutes while it downloads.
My lessons learned for new users:
1 - I suggest a small coin purse to carry the cradle and short USB cord with you. If you need to unpair&repair the device, you need the cradle. Also makes it convenient to recharge the Touch while working at a computer.
2 - The app has to be open in order to send notifications to the Touch. I try to remember to charge my phone in the car to keep that battery topped up.
3 - If your app shows the Touch is not connected, first close the app and open it again. Give it a minute, and restart the Touch if it's still not connected. Don't be afraid of the factory reset, you lose no historic info on the app.
4 - I bought this on a holiday weekend and couldn't pair the Touch. After submitting a help ticket, I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app and doing a factory reset on the Touch, and that worked.
A last note that won't be useful to very many people - I have fibromyalgia and the sleep tracker is more useful than I expected. Quality sleep is critical to minimizing my other symptoms, and this sometimes gives me advance warning that I need to take better care of myself.

Excellent Device, Will Not Disappoint
Posted by: Elektr0sole from: on
Bought This On A Whim, As I Am New To Tracking Activity And Diet. I Charged It When I Got Home (Took 1.5 Hours To Charge From 0%) And I Have Had It On And Connected To My Phone For 3.5 Days, All I Can Say Is Wow! The Battery Is Still At 59%! I Think It Will Last At Least Another Two Days. I Don't Mess With It Much, I Check My Steps 5 Times Per Day Or So, And I Read My Notifications. I Was Also Very Impressed That The Device Displays Entire Text Messages With The Sender's Name (You Can Scroll To Read The Whole Message), Who's Calling When The Phone Rings, And It Also Displays Subject Lines And Senders In Emails. It's Water Proof, And I've Been Wearing It In The Shower Without A Hitch. The Vibrating Alarm Is A Subtle And Quiet Way To Wake Up, And It Displays Custom Text. Also, If You Are Using Itunes, You Can Pause And Skip To The Next Song, Which Is Helpful When Out For A Run. TLDR; Great Value, Battery Life, Water Proof, Extensive Features For Something The Size Of A Wristband. Love It.

Great device at a good price!
Posted by: Teester from: on
It is too bad there are so many bad reviews of this device. I had the Fitbit Force until it was recalled. So I tried this device instead, and it has worked GREAT! They have sent out a couple of software updates, so make sure you have downloaded those. Otherwise I love the notifications on my wrist for when I am in meetings. It has been accurate with my steps as well. It is comfortable, and does not get in the way of typing on my computer. I have worn it 24 hours a day, and even in the shower. No problems yet and it has been a couple of months. The company is promising more updates too and looks for feedback from their users!

Good with lots of potential
Posted by: AngeRosser from: Houston, TX on
For the price you can't beat its features...call and text notifications...activity tracker, etc. I hope that the upcoming features of added apps, etc. pan out. Compared to my fitbit I wore on my waist the step count is not as accurate as it is worn on the wrist...though when I wore both all day not a significant discrepancy. I don't forget this like the fitbit as it is worn even at night as a sleep tracker. I love the call and text notifications. I run a small business and this helps keep me on track. I am looking forward to the calendar notifications...not yet active on my iPhone 5s...the company said I should expect these at the end of summer. One piece of advice...when you get a text scroll through them to keep receiving text notifications. If you don't it won't give you any more until you do.

At first setup and programming was time consuming due to limited instructions given. However at most 10 mins after sync, uptodate, and properly functioning with my iPhone 5s. I love the gadget, it vibrates and displays every MSG/email/ incoming call/ missed call and every notification received. Great smart watch. As far as fitness tracker has a great app where it syncs to.

So far, so good...

it works perfectly, there are some areas that need much improvement, especially the info area.I can't find info on adding friends, playing the game & understanding the info from the sleep graph ( what the red lines & blue lines mean).

Great fitness tracker / smart watch
Posted by: AAPL123 from: Detroit, MI on
Great hybrid between fitness tracker and smart watch. You have to be a bit patient while first setting the device up but other than that, it is a great product. Works great for running and receiving txt/calls from your phone. Very cool gadget and priced at its correct value. Looks cool, works well and fits comfortably around your wrist.
