Customers recognize the 2-Tuner Digital Video Recorder's Wi-Fi capability as a significant advantage, enabling wireless streaming to multiple TVs and eliminating satellite bills. They also praise its ease of setup and user-friendly interface. However, some users have reported issues with recording quality, including instances of incomplete recordings and occasional interruptions. Addressing these recording concerns would improve the overall user experience.

I’m very happy with my Tablo purchase. Approximately two years ago I decided to “cut the cord” and install an attic antenna to receive just the over-the-air (OTA) TV channels. I started using a DVD recorder/player to record and view my favorite TV programs. It was a very annoying task since it required me to maintain a collection of recordable DVDs which had to be erased each week for recycling and sometimes failed. With Tablo, the process to record and view my favorite programs is much easier and reliable. Tablo is very easy to set up. I installed the Tablo app on our PCs, my wife’s Android tablet, and our Android phones. The installation is straightforward and the software is very easy to use. I now have the ability to watch live or recorded TV programs on all of those devices plus my 2 TVs, which are both equipped with Roku and Chromecast. The “Tablo Connect” feature was easy to activate. I did not have to do anything with the settings of my router. This option allows me to program my Tablo and view live TV or recordings away from home. Streaming through Roku and Chromecast is usually slow. Therefore, I installed the Tablo Ripper software on my PC, which enables me to rip the TV program files contained in the Tablo hard drive to my PC hard drive, in the form of mp4 files. I can then copy these mp4 files to a thumb drive and view them on my TVs without the buffering issues. The Tablo unit tends to run very hot, which could shorten its lifetime. Therefore, I strongly recommend cooling the unit with a laptop cooler. I also use the laptop cooler to cool the Tablo hard drive since its enclosure does not contain a fan. I leave the cooler running all the time since it uses very little energy.

Cutting the cord but needed to be able to record the Packer games. The best feature for me was that it can be used to get the OTA tv to more than one tv wirelessly using streaming devices which we already had. With this we only need on antenna without splitters and cables going to each tv, and we can move the tv's anywhere. A couple hiccups: need to make sure the settings aren't too high on the recording quality, otherwise, it keeps reloading if there is any interference in the signal. And one thing I haven't figured out yet is why it backs out of the channel at the end of each program, but I will be calling the company on that. May be something I need to change in the settings. Overall, a good system. AND only a $5 monthly fee for the guide which is very helpful. I like having my own hard drive to store my own recordings rather than paying a service for it.

I absolutely LOVE this ting. it enabled me to cancel directv and still watch the shows I want from OTA channels. This box is only one part of my cord cutting solution, but it works and ti works well. I was a little annoyed at the additional charge for guide data, but paying for lifetime access to the guide data seems to be par for the course, all the other providers do it too. At least Tablo's is reasonable. The other big deal for me: live tv on the current gen AppleTV. For anyone who is using a new AppleTV as the hub of your TV/Home Entertainment system, this box is NECESSARY. Tablo recently came out with their AppleTV app and it works almost flawlessly. All said and done, i'm into the Tablo for roughly the equivelent of 5 months of my satellite service, and I'm okay with that. Can't recommend this thing enough.
