Overview

Synopsis

Real Life Teens: Teens & Global Warming
A word of explanation may be helpful: in lieu of the reality series suggested by the title, the Real Life Teens series actually constitutes a series of documentary programs that provide down-to-earth advice and counsel for teenagers on dealing with the vicissitudes of adolescence. Each program utilizes candid, from-the-hip interviews with actual teens, speaking from the wisdom of life experience, and each incorporates adult insights. As introduced and hosted by University of California Santa Cruz earth scientist Travis O'Brien, the episode entitled "Teens & Global Warming" filters the issue of the gradual rise in earth's temperature through the perspective of adolescent boys and girls. It evaluates their various perspectives on global warming, how they have personally felt the impact of global warming, who they blame, and how they foresee working against an environmental catastrophe prompted by global warming. Ultimately, the program reminds viewers that while other societal issues may not be rectifiable or addressable by teens, global warming is one they can begin to address immediately. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
