Under the Sea 3D Experience up-close encounters with some of the most remarkable marine life ever captured on film while examining the impact of global climate change on the ocean wilderness as award-winning director/cinematographer Howard Hall (Into the Deep, Deep Sea 3D) travels from South Australia to the Indo-Pacific to teach viewers the importance of keeping our oceans clean for future generations. Just how great of an effect does global warming have on marine wildlife, and what can be done to ensure the future well-being of our planet? As the filmmakers reveal the delicacy of our fragile ecosystem, viewers are allowed the unique opportunity to see what we risk losing should we fail to address the issue of global climate change sooner rather than later. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Best 3d bluray so far
Posted by: amdx from: brookly, ny on
This is the best 3d bluray so far. If you want thing popping out of the screen this is the one to get. I have other 3d bluray but none of them really pops out like this one and the picture is perfect. I mean the color is so natural is like swimming along with the fishes.

Stunning 3D DVD
Posted by: 3Dmo from: Phoenix on
This 3D documantary is a showcase for 3D home systems. The sea creatures in the film felt like swimming in my living room. The best 3D I have ever seen on a 3D home system and the images of the sea life was beyond descibing. The narration was just ok but I was so blown out by the 3D images, that I hardly noticed it. I will have to watch again and this time pay more attention to the narration.

NOT A 3D MOVIE
Posted by: Rajib1080 from: New York on
I do not know what in the world made them to call it an "IMAX" movie.
This is completely a 2D movie. Of course, there are beautiful scenes under the water. But, if you are looking for any movie like "Avater" (The Theatre version) or "Monsters Vs Aliens", this is not the one. Although I have opened the box, I will still try to return and get my money back.

BEST example of 3D to date
Posted by: KCKid007 from: Kansas City on
Its hard to rate "acting" and "DVD extras" on a documentary. Not sure why they are on there. But those aside this being what it is, A 47 minute demo of what 3D can be like, Its great. This has THE best 3D moment on it I have ever seen on a 3D home screen. About half way through, there is a potato cod swiming right out in front of you that you could reach out and touch. Its dang near worth the 35 bucks right there. Its definately the one scene that you want to show people when they come over so see your 3D setup. If you want to own the best 3D scene to date on a home theater, then this is the dics for you. Aside from that , its a good documentary on creatures that live in the ocean, mainly the coral reefs, and how the changes in the earth and global worming can be endangering these life forms.
But mark my words. The cod is worth the price of admission.

great 3d movie - perfect application of 3d
Posted by: valuefinder5 from: tampa fl on
This is an excellent 3d movie. Kind of short and the commentary is not that great but for the purpose of 3d viewing it is great. The scene where the codfish looks at you and it practically seems to be inches from your nose is worth this movie. You feel like you can reach out and touch this fish.

First let me say that this is a documentary so there is no plot nor acting to rate. That being said it is an intresting well done documentary. Where it really shines though is in the 3D quality. There is one sceen where a potato cod seems to swim out of the screen & into the room with you (much like a holigram). This is the BD I use to show off my 3D system.

Good 3d movie for the kids
Posted by: Bigtee414 from: Chicago, IL on
Both my sons are very interested in the ocean and this 3d video was great. They sat mesmerized with the 3d imagery for the entire movie. If you or your children like sea-life documentatries like Blue Planet and have a 3d TV, this is a great movie to get. Jim Carey's voice is a little annoying but the 3d effects makes up for that.

This is THE 3D DVD to show off your 3D equipment! The 3D is awesome, and it holds up for repeat viewings. Could have been a bit longer, but IMAX movies are always shorter. Overall, a great DVD, and a must-have for 3D TV owners.
