    Synopsis

On many levels, the long-running BBC drama Upstairs, Downstairs became one of the most successful series of its parent network. The by-now-familiar premise contrasts the experiences of the Bellamys, a family of wealthy, aristocratic Britons ('Upstairs'), with those of their loyal servants ('Downstairs'), as all share a residence at the townhouse 165 Eaton Place, London. The program's final season (its fifth) covers the eleven-year period of 1919 through 1930. Highlights include Lord and Lady Bellamy commencing a life together, James's last ignominy in front of the family, and much more. All of Series Five of Upstairs, Downstairs appears in this box set, as it originally aired in 1975. Stars include Anthony Andrews, Christopher Beeny, Jean Marsh and Simon Williams. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
