It's a Top-Up card!
Posted by: Matthew82 from: Pittsburgh on
I don't understand how people can rate a Top-Up card 3 of 5 points. This is a Top-Up card - this is NOT the Virgin Mobile service plan opinion board. It's a cash up card - it either works or it doesn't! PS - It works fine!

It works, though larger top ups are better
Posted by: virginmobiledude from: D.C. on
Why is it better to get a larger top up card? First, no plan from Virgin Mobile is $10 or less per month, so it is a hassle to buy these. Also, there is an additional $0.50 e911 fee PER TOP UP CARD, no matter if it is $10 or $60. Hence you could save a couple of dollars by buying a larger Top Up Card. Adding it to my account was a breeze, though the PIN # was pretty small and it was a little bit hard to read read one of the numbers. Overall, buy a larger Top Up instead.

Card works fine. but be aware of the new fee.

purchasing this card i was under the impression that i needed to purchase more top up credit since the increase in January. Please be advised that you do not need to buy extra cards. You will be charged at the register of the new increase. For example, if you're paying $35per month, you will continue to buy the $35 top up card and when you proceed to check out, you will be charged extra for the new fee added on. I wish I understood it better this time around but now I know. Hopefully this helps someone else.

With a little work, this gets you unlimited voice
Posted by: BillFromKC from: KCMO on
I bought this with my Kyocera Event because I needed airtime with my prepaid phone. However, 300 minutes isn't very much talk time when you actually use your phone to call people (Virgin's $35 smartphone plan is unlimited text and data, but 300 minutes).
So what's a person to do when they use their phone more than 300 minutes? Google and an app have the answer.
Google offers a free service called Google Voice. You can get a phone number, voicemail, texting, and (as long as you call within Canada and the United States) it's free to use. Pair this with an app called MoPlus that you can buy through Google Play or the iTunes App Store (Android and iOS, respectively), and given the fact that Sprint doesn't block VoIP traffic on their network, you can use MoPlus to make voice calls over your data connection. The added bonus is that you'll be able to talk on the phone and still connect to apps that require data connections (such as navigation apps).

Great for quick fill-up
Posted by: EvoX2008 from: Detroit, MI on
This is a great way to fill up your account. However, it would be less painful if the code was sent via email or text msg (for verified customers at least), so I wouldn't have to wait for my PIN for days.

I ordered this online, and was able to pick it up at the store the same day.
Quick, easy Top-Up option for VirginMobile phones when you don't want autopay enabled.
