highly dissapointed Posted by: from: on I purchased a refrigerator from Best BUY, my sales experience was fine. My refrigerator stopped working and with a family i needed one now. We decided on the Whirpool 24.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator. now less that 90 days later, the freezer stopped working! It's past 30 days so Best Buy will not replace this item. We are not talking about a mini fridge here this thing is huge and about $1,500. The Last fridge I had was over 2o years old I expected this one would not last nearly as long but certainly longer than 90 days!!

Good product but issues with install Posted by: from: on Pro - easy to use, works well. Best buy sales process was great. I was looking at Lowes before and they had very specific installation requirements that many older homes don't accommodate (e.g. a water shut off valve behind the refrigerator). Best Buy had no issues and just needed the master house water turned off which made things easy. Con - I had several issues with the installation. 1) it couldn't fit up the stairs so they asked me to remove the rail...this cost $200. 2) They delivered one without a working plug (see pic). 3) Another faulty product delivered with a broken freezer door (website won't let me upload the video).

Buyer Beware Posted by: from: on This refrigerator is made with inferior stainless steel and Whirlpool will not stand behind their product. If you look on the internet you will see that others are having problems with rusting as we are. We bought Whirlpool dishwasher, oven, vent hood and refrigerator all at the same time less than a year ago and the other appliances are fine but the refrigerator is rusting on all three doors. The metal also shows fingerprints and scratches easily. Whirlpool says it is a cosmetic issue so they only cover for 30 days. They know they are putting an inferior grade of metal on these refrigerators and cover themselves in the warranty. Do you buy a stainless steel appliance to have it rust in less than a year? Also have had issues with the freezer door mechanics freezing up, but handy husband fixed it. Take a closer look at glowing reviews and see if they have had the refrigerator for a year or more. I wish we had bought something else.

Buyer Beware Posted by: from: on I purchased this Whirlpool Refrigerator the weekend of Black friday thinking to myself that I got a good deal...Unfortunately after the two Best Buy guys delivered it(very polite mind you ) they plugged in the fridge only to not have it start cooling. After four hours of not working, i called BB to have the customer service lady tell me that it was company policy to not deal with an item once it had been delivered and that I would have to contact Whirlpool. Infuriated over this remark skip ahead three weeks my fridge is working after they had to replace the condenser, main board and some other little piece. After all this, i called the BB store locally and talked with a manager who told me that I should have called them and they would have taken care of it... In hindsight i should have returned it to BB and went to elsewhere.

Really like the Whirlpool. Posted by: from: Seattle, WA on I'd been review & looking at many fridges for many months, as my old one was giving out. I had usually been drawn to this particular one. I wanted Fr. Doors, not double doors (compartments too narrow on some). Also I did NOT need an icemaker. I use little ice & am fine with ice cube trays! Call me old-fashioned! They also take up way too much room from the compartment. So this one does have the optional item in the lower freezer, but if I want, I can even remove that, even tho it doesn't take up much room. Plus my fridge is across from the water supply, not next to it, so one would have to go down underneath to run long tubing, etc. to hook it up. The fridge is fine, tho. I like that being in the upper part & more reachable. The freezer in the bottom is more like a chest freezer (not fond of those), but of course it is smaller, so not too hard to reach things. The one kinda big problem is that there is no "open door" warning & one must pay close attention to making sure the left side closes completely, as it has a phalange (sp?) that laps under the right side, so needs a little extra push to make sure it closes all the way. I like the individually adjustable shelves & the stainless steel/grey combination is very pretty! I DO NOT like all black: too depressing!

SAD DAY!!!! Whirlpool quality isn't what it once was!

As Good As They Come Posted by: from: on Only 2 months in, but we are loving this refrigerator. It has ample room and compartments for all sized items. It is very easy to organize or re-organize the shelving to accommodate your groceries. A real like is the rack drawers in the freezer. You can see everything in both pull out compartments at one time, compared to an enclosed drawer that you can't see through the bottom of. It's silent except for an occasional sound from the ice being made. The guys did a great job delivering and installing it too. I totally recommend this product.

two major problems within four years Posted by: from: Millersville, MD on I have had this refrigerator for four years and have already had two major problems: (1) water leaking out of the freezer compartment, and (2) the refrigerator compartment stopped cooling. For the first problem, I fixed it myself by researching the Internet. The problem was well known to occur with these refrigerators, so there was a lot of info on the Internet. Fixing the problem involved removing the back panel and cutting a notch in a small rubber connector. A repair person would have charged $150-$200 for this. For the second problem, I had to call a repair person, because the main circuit board needed to be replaced: total cost of $360 ($200 part plus $160 labor). The repair person told me I would be lucky to get 9 years out of this frig. He recommended Frigidaire as the best brand to buy.

Great Refrigerator Posted by: from: on This is a great Refrigerator ! Lots of room Shelves are all adjustable . 2 separate crisper drawers plus a huge deli drawer plenty of room for even our large family . Can fit 4 gallons of milk just on the 2 bottom shelves on the doors ! We like the fact this DID NOT have the external ice and water dispenser . These just take up space that is more valuable inside the fridge. Plus with little fingers reaching up and pushing buttons it is just a disaster waiting to happen .

Attractive refrig at an affordable price. Posted by: from: Auburn,CA on Good looking refrig at competitive price.Large interior spaces, even cooling in all areas. The adjustable shelving is heavy duty and nice looking, seems well made.It is located near a open family room and the noise from the refig is not a problem, indeed it hardly runs at all.We are happy with our purchase and would recommend it.
