Perfect little dryer

We have a damp basement and have used a dehumidifier to control the moisture. Our last unit just gave out after 3 years of continous operation. I would have gotten it but the brand is now defunct. Long story short, we got this Whynter unit and it's very powerful for the size. It's getting more moisture than before but it fills up quick. If you need a compact unit this would be it.

Quiet, works well, easy to use
Posted by: Happywithlife from: Northwest, Indiana on
It is refreshing to purchase something that works as it should. Now a days that simple task is hard to accomplish.
The dehumidifier is very quiet, dehumidifies well, the controls are simple to use and the bucket is easy to remove and empty. Half of the things I buy I would not buy again. This is not the case here. I would definitely buy this item again.

Seemed to be well-made but it puts out heat
Posted by: HumidinTexas from: Texas on
Should work well in a basement, but not in a bedroom because it generates heat around the unit. After an hour of use, it raised the room temperature 2-3 degrees, unfortunately.

Plug it in and your ready to go
Posted by: HumidFlorida from: on
The casters work great to move it around the room easily..but one has to snap the casters in themselves. After turning the unit off, wait a minute or two so the water drains into the removable tank; otherwise, it will "leak" a little water out. It doesn't spill onto the floor as it collects in the area of the unit where the tank sits. Pouring the water out of the tank can be tricky.....you have to hold it just right and pour slowly so it only pours out of one area. The unit is a bit noisy and the fan constantly runs. so far, it is doing what I want it to do. It does generate some heat, so if you have it in a closed room, the temperature will rise. Good unit...wish it was a bit quieter, but it is the perfect size and capacity for what I needed.

1st one made it almost a year....
Posted by: SoFlo from: on
I have had three of these...the first one worked awesome for almost a year and then suddenly stopped working. Returned it for another one and it didn't work properly from the first time it was plugged in. Returned for the third one and it too didn't work properly. ended up going with a different brand....

If you are looking for good, quiet humidifier at a reasonable price, this is the one you want. It drops the humidity quick and very quiet. Completely satisfied.

Great Value & Does a Good Job!
Posted by: WhatDuzTheFOXsay from: on
An Energy Star compliant appliance with a small footprint. Room feels cooler since it removes the mugginess from the air. As a bonus, in drought stricken California, it collects water from the air and automatically shuts off when full. I water my plants with this special "bonus water" every other day! A smart purchase over an expensive air conditioner and cheaper on energy. Don't give up your fan as this is not.

Fast easy set up
Posted by: sk8rmom from: on
Wanted a small dehumidifier that was extremely portable to be used only when needed. This fits the bill and was well priced. Easy to set up. Quiet and working perfectly so far.
