Fantastic. Strong protection for your screen
Posted by: EhKeeblerElf from: Palm Springs on
This screen protector is very good. It's very similar to a 3m hood protection you put on car. The material is very strong and is very resistant to scratching. It does not affect the brightness of the iphone 5 at all when installed.
I find that it is about 1 mm too short all the way around but it's still fine especially if you are putting it in a case of some sort. I did a good install using the instructions and honestly you have a hard time seeing it. You almost have to look for it when it's installed.
To address people worried about installation let me say this. If you are willing to put aside a good 10 minutes, be patient and set up a dust free little area around your phone you will get a good install.
To help you out here's what i have done to install these on all my iphones in the past and my iphone 5:
1.) wipe down a 2 foot area on the kitchen counter
2.) put iphone on a fresh dust free towel
3.) i spray a very small amount of windex on the included microfiber cloth and wipe down the iphone screen really really good to take of finger marks/oils and dust.
4.) inspect the iphone screen really good without ever touching it to make sure there's not one piece of dust. Remember even the smallest inconsequential little piece of dust could create a little bubble.
5.) Spray your hands really well with the provided solution to avoid finger marks on the HD protector.
6.) remove protector from package and spray provided solution on adhesive side. I know it seems odd to have a wet screen protector going on your nice electronic phone. Just don't flood it so solution gets in ports.
7.) Carefully position the protector on the iphone and position it for the fit you want.
8.) Important - For a nice bubble free install squeegy from the center of the phone screen outwards to the side. This will give you a great bubble free install. Squeegy comes in the kit.
9.) Important tip 2 - Let phone sit for about 6 hours without turning it on. Two benefits. First, this gives you the best bubble free adhesion. Two, it gives plenty of "curing" time so that you don't get lifting corners on it in the future.
Hope this helps.

Great screen protector, keeps screen looking sharp
Posted by: cdonaldson from: Murfreesboro, TN on
After owning several different variations of the ZAGG shields over the years . . . this is by far the best one I have come across. This is a great protector that keeps the retina display looking sharp.
I see people commenting on the 'lack of quality', referencing the uneven cutout at the top by the earpiece . . . but in actuality, this is not a design flaw, and is to account for the sensor located to the left of the earpiece. You cannot see the sensor on the black model. But if you look at the white, you can see it plain as day. So ZAGG did not 'rush this to retail', they simply did not want to disrupt the functionality of the iPhone.
Great product . . . highly recommend. I actually ripped off my old ZAGG protector for my iPad and purchased the HD version because I like it on the iPhone so much.

Does the job
Posted by: DugR2 from: Des Moines, IA on
When I purchased my iPhone 5, I got this screen protector and a case as part of an accessories package, and Best Buy installed the screen protector for me before I left the store.
-This screen protector does not take away from the beautiful iPhone 5 screen - it's almost invisible.
-Lifetime warranty if it fails (Hopefully I never have to use that...but see below...)
-Does not go completely to the edge of the screen, so there's a small band running around the entire perimeter of the display where dust and debris can get caught - not a big problem but worth mentioning.
-Also worth mentioning - this screen protector has a sticky texture to it, so your finger won't "slide" as easily as it would on the bare screen. (I don't mind this, but my fiance does and she chose another kind of screen protector.)
Overall, it does the job - longevity is questionable.

Very Good Screen Shield
Posted by: PatinDayton from: Dayton, OH on
This has to be the best screen shield available for the iPhone 5. It is designed for use with a case. For those that are saying it does not fit correctly please notice that the packaging clearly states that it is "case friendly."

I'm a believer!
Posted by: TinaF28 from: Maryland on
After my husband scratched his iphone 5 after a week of use, I went out and bought him this screen protector. I have always hated screen protectors, and have resisted having one for a long time. My iPhone 3GS went screen protector-less for three years.
I have been using my husband's phone for a couple days now and I love this screen protector so much that I have bought one for myself also.
The clarity is great, and it is not sticky to the touch like many screen protectors. Honestly, I barely even notice that it's there.
Let me address the reviews saying that this was cut crooked. My husband has a black phone and I have the white. With both phones side by side it's obvious why many people think the top cut out is off center. There is a second sensor to the left of the ear piece, which is why there is a gap next to it. With the white phone this black dot is visible, not so much with the black phone. So, to everyone marking it down for this so called defect - ITS NOT CROOKED. Go online and look at a picture of a white iPhone 5 and you'll understand. If you have the black phone, just line it up with the home button and the sides of the phone and you'll be fine.
The only bad thing I can say is that I have a very minimal case, so even with the case on, there is still a gap. I love it anyway!
Anyway, great cover - can't recommend it highly enough!

I Love The Invisi-Shield's
Posted by: MsNette from: Baton Rouge, LA on
I've purchased quite a few invisi-shields for me and my family. They are easy to install and they hold and feel great. I have always installed my own and I seldom have a bubble and if so it does heal itself in a day or so. The HD Shields I purchased for the 5 and my daughters 4S is awesome, it's as close as you can possibly get to having nothing on the screen and it still be protected.
The key is to spray enough of the solution on the shield that it will allow you to move it around until you have it placed just where you want it. This creeped me out the first time I did it but voila, everything worked out perfectly and my device was unharmed. Installed my screens and really - I use my phone immediately, didn't give me one problem and my screen is as clear as you can imagine.

Solid protection and good feel
Posted by: IamPATRICKc from: Chicago on
This is the first time I've ever used a screen protector and I've only had it on for 3 days now but I love the piece of mind this thing gives me. It basically feels like you're on the phone's glass. There is a tiny bit of extra friction but it's not so much that you really think about it. It's nice being able to throw my phone in my pocket and not worry about what else ends up in the same pocket.
Follow the directions to the T and you'll be done in about 15 mins with no issues. I applied mine at night so that I could leave the phone off for at least the minimum recommended 12 hours. To the other reviewer that had bubbling issues, I have a feeling it was from the mobile team doing a poor installation. I was gonna have them apply mine but then I saw a bunch of complaints online about BB doing shoddy installs on the screen protectors.
Again, if you read all the directions BEFORE starting and follow them precisely, you'll have a great experience.

Excellent material, poor design
Posted by: buttaspoony from: Washington, DC on
So I have always used Zagg screen protectors on my previous iterations of the iphone, from 4 to 4s to now the 5. Never had any issues with it, and the convenience of going to mall and getting the screen replaced for $5 when it's all dogged out is great. So when I got my 5 on Friday, I went over to Best Buy to pick up a Zagg protector. Picked up the HD as it was only $5 more. The difference in look is very noticeable from the standard model. Looks like it's barely there, while still giving you that warm protective feeling that only Zagg can provide. However, the screen does not fit. In order to cover all of one side, the other side falls short. Plus the area around the camera is really open. I know you obviously can't cover the camera lens, but I would have thought they would have done a better job of covering the area surrounding it. All in all, a good product, but with its deficiencies.

Great feel and Great protection
Posted by: Enforje from: Brandon, FL on
HD version of Zagg shield is all about the touch. If you didn't like the "gummy" feel of the original zagg shield this HD version is much closer to a hard glass like feel. Clarity and is not really a factor here, its a screen protector... if it wasn't clear we'd all be upset - its clear.
Case friendly = not edge to edge. This protector is designed to leave space at the edge of your screen for the "lip" of the case you may or may not be using. I don't use a case so at first I questioned it, but in reality, if 95% of my screen is scratch free I'm happy. If you buy this product and feel that its not enough coverage...you can return it. Best Buy takes good care of their customers.
I strongly recommend the professional install at Best Buy or a Zagg counter (in a mall). Takes a few minutes, costs 7$ (at Zagg counter). They fit it perfectly centered on your phone and no bubbling.

Very poor fitting and poor design
Posted by: why39guido from: Kansas City, MO on
All of the Zagg screen protectors for the iPhone 5 are not at all close to the size of the screen and leave a large amount of the screen unprotected. In order to get the top opening for the speaker aligned and the home screen button aligned the screen protector is going to be quite crooked and will leave 1/8th inch of unprotected screen on both sides of the phone. Even with a case that overlaps the sides of the phone this will be very evident and will look extremely cheap and with the pros install it will still look like it was installed by a child due to its design. Considering the cheapest Zagg protector is about $25...then with the $7.99 install one would assume the end result would be very good, but it is not, not at all.
