After gambling on several "sure fire" electronic items that left me disappointed, I now add Geek Squad Protection to all eligible items at Best Buy & Magnolia in Best Buy. LIKES: 1- Peace of Mind. 2- Eliminate unexpected repair or replacement cost. 3- Backed by Best Buy - the BEST Electronics / Appliance Retailer there is! 4- On many smaller items, Geek Squad Protection replaces the electronics, rather than repairs it. That is an added bonus! 5- Best Buy refunded my money on a $329 digital camera after a small button broke from normal wear and tear, 2 years later. It was a replacement warranty & the model was obsolete. I was thrilled & will never forget how Best Buy treated my wife & her broken camera! Made me a Best Buy shopper for Life! 6- Increases resale value of a product if you sell it and the Geek Squad Protection is in effect. Which would you rather buy? Used Electronics As-Is or Electronics protected by Geek Squad Protection? Check out the photo I posted showing Geek Squad Protection Plans. 7- Best Buy helps you find the Geek Squad Protection Number because it is automatically added to the purchased product at the register! No Paper Work! 8- You can file a claim online or at Best Buy. 9- You can check on a claim status online or at Best Buy. 10- Best Buy posts Warranties & Manufacturer Contact Information right on their Website, so you can make an educated decision before buying any brand they sell, as to whether or not to add Geek Squad Protection. See the picture of this I posted. DISLIKES: 1- Initial Cost of the Geek Squad Protection. CONCLUSION: In my experience, the Geek Squad Protection benefits far outweigh the initial cost. Piece of Mind is always a Plus, as well. I am sold on it & buy many products from Best Buy because I can add protection that is not available anywhere else!

I bought this NetGear knowing I would purchase 2 new HP’s which I recently did, Bestbuy confirmed this product is excellent with my cable company. Just got everything set up, called cable company for hook up details. It won’t work! If your phone comes from your cable company you must purchase in a product from them that works for both. $200 lesson 5 stars are for the geek squad!!

Don't hesitate to buy a Netgear router (like the Orbi) if you enjoy the following: • Cycling power to your WiFi router every 48-72 hours • Constant nag to subscribe to built-in Netgear security services* • Lackluster app-based admin control • 2-3 minute wait for an admin page to load (app or browser-based) • Regular firmware updates that fix security bugs but create operational bugs I've used the RBK50 mesh system for just over a year (purchased April 2019). For the first 10 months, I had few problems and okay coverage. Together, the RBR50 base and RBS50 satellite cover 90% of a 1-story 3,000 sf house. Then came the 11th month and a random autoupdate to firmware v2.5.1.8 (Released 12/19/2019). Afterwards, the router has required a regimen of no less than one weekly restart. At times, it increased to as much as every 48 hours. I found and resolved small issues (ie. for some reason the router had updated, but not the satellite), finally bringing all equipment to the current "stable" firmware release (v2.5.1.16) in early May. Nothing has helped. The Orbi system randomly stops working every 48-72 hours. My internet service and broadband modem have no issues. The Orbi doesn't lose power or flash error lights and no devices lose their network connection. The Orbi simply stops responding to URL requests, web and app-based admin control. The only fix is to manually cycle power on the router and wait approx. 10 minutes. I previously used a Linksys WRT series WiFi router and a pair of AirPort Extremes. Both served an average of 8-16 residents and 25-50 devices. Both remained extremely reliable for a combined 20 years. Both still work 100% today. Unfortunately, those trusted devices had to be replaced as WiFi specs advanced, device counts further increased and the need for mesh became apparent. It was especially unfortunate that that Apple abandoned their AirPort line. Despite the positive reviews when I purchased the RBK50, time has revealed the true nature of Orbi and the support it receives. While I hoped the system would be a solid step on the way to WiFi 6, less than a year of use revealed it was a wasted investment. Never again, Netgear. *A link to Netgear's Armor service (prominently labeled "Security") is one of the main controls for the app and browser-based admin settings. Choosing it removes you from settings and takes you to a sign-up-and-pay website for the service. Many places where you see the word "security" do the same thing. It is very frustrating.

This is certainly a step down from ADH coverage, but depending on the value of the item you're using this can be a HUGE value if you understand what it DOES and does NOT cover.

Purchased the extra Geek Squad service in addition to an Amazon Echo we purchased. Even though so far we haven't had any issues with our Echo with it breaking down or becoming problematic, IT is comforting to know that the agreement is there with the purchase. The standard warranty is ok especially for an Echo device, BUT if you have any other electronics this little extra product replacement agreement will surely help you out if any problems might arise with your tech stuff. The 5 stars I give is for the peace of mind knowing that if later down the road into the year or two before the agreement expires, if for some reason, in our case our Echo unit suffers from a total breakdown, knowing we have an extended coverage is good and saves us from headaches of money being thrown away just to buy a totally new one when we can just exchange it or get credit back!!

They brought manufacture specific parts From Samsung & mentioned the newer parts are a must for ice makers. After spending close to two years defrosting my ice maker & watching youtube videos I just called geek squad. New parts and the technician Was very knowledgeable and very polite. He covered his shoes With plastic wraps when he came in my house & wore a face mask due to covid safety precautions. He even tightened up the door handles on the fridge and freezer doors which I didn’t notice were getting loose. Everything would’ve cost over $500 if I didn’t have geek squad. Definitely worth the peace of mind & value of the warranty. I have the same plan on all my electronics in my home.

Very thankful to Best Buy for providing this protection to products for reasonable rates and making it easy to use. Luckily I had this, because while setting up the WiFi Range Extender in my home, the plug was knocked from the wall during it's initial setup, causing it to malfunction and rendering it basically useless. Called upon my Product Replacement Plan, and voila, was able to replace it the same day and get it working shortly thereafter. Thanks Best Buy. Definitely creating a lifetime customer out of me.
