This is an attractive trim kit made for the LG microwave we purchased. It was this one or a custom made unit at an even higher price. To install it required us to make wooden spacers to fill the sides of the cabinet space as the kit mounting base was not wide enough to reach the sides of the cabinet. At first you wonder what holds the microwave firmly in place but once you complete the installation the unit is locked in. If you are not handy this could be a little challenging for you. Instructions are decent and when it is properly installed you'll be satisfied. The components are nicely made but the price seems high. The kit is much more than the microwave. That is confusing. One wonders how this is justified?

Trim looked nice. Fit well and easy install. Was a little pricey compared to other microwave trims.

The drop of a star is related to price of the item set by the manufacturer. It’s odd that the frame costs more than the microwave itself. As for the frame itself, we had a contractor install it due to size of the opening, some shims needed to be added to center the microwave. It all looks nice after the install.

This trim kit feels like a complete afterthought. It is a more complex installation than other trim kits I have installed. Being a one piece kit makes it very challenging to get the final finished trim piece installed. The last two steps in the process took the vast majority of the time. The directions could also be clearer, and although they include a template it’s not clearly explained how it is positioned in the cabinet floor. I also really don’t understand why they don’t pre-cut the template. You have to trim the entire perimeter of the paper template which feels confusing because you wonder if you should be cutting certain sections. All of that time and guess work would be gone if they would just send it pre-cut. It’s nonsense. All of this said, it is the only black stainless trim kit available for the 2.2 cf microwave so I have no other option than to recommend this kit. The only alternative would be having a custom trim kit made. There are companies that do that. It is however expensive. I love LG. I have their entire line of appliances in my kitchen, so this is not a condemnation of LG. I would say two things to LG (if they look at market reviews): 1. The trim kit should NEVER cost more than the microwave itself. It ticks customers off. Take one moment to think about “Voice of Customer” principles. 2. If you insist on charging this much for a trim kit, it better darn well feel like the same quality that comes when you open LG Appliance boxes. This trim kit does not. **BTW, not print proof. That’s just silly. Keep a microfiber cloth close.

A little difficult to install, even with the paper templates. However it's the only option to pair with the LG NeoChef 2.0 Cu. Ft. microwave. Once installed, does look nice. Does seem expensive as it was more than the microwave itself...but again, it's the only option.

Decent trim piece but my cabinets were not a standard size so the included brackets would not work. I ended up having to fab some brackets to hold the provided brackets. It worked but not an optimal solution.

This trim kit looks really sharp and the installation was straight forward. The only downside is the trim kit was as much as the microwave, but that’s pretty typical with trim kits.

Looks good but required some extra steps during install. Frame pieces from the trim aren't wide enough requiring me to screw in some extra wood for my opening. Wasn't super hard, but did add an hour or so of extra work. Overall happy. Rest of the install was pretty simple. Looks good.

Although I still can’t get over how much they charge for this simple frame, it does look nice and completes the look. Honestly, though, it is ridiculously priced. Also, it definitely holds fingerprints and needs frequent wiping down.

The trim kit had to have a few adjustment made in the existing space to fit. Once installed it looks perfect. I was a little taken back that the trim kit was more expensive than the microwave oven? My husband had to make the adjustments and install.

We purchased a LG Microwave to replace a old convection microwave. I does not have all the features the old one had but is sufficient for basic needs. The sensor option is nice but doesn't seem to heat long enough. I usually add some time. The unit looks nice and we ordered a trim kit to make a built in look. The trim kit came with one wrong part and couldn't replace just that part without returning all of it. So we opted to make it work. Not sure if I love the quality of the microwave but so far it is sufficient for our needs.

When it is all said and done, it looks great. In the process you have to struggle with the instructions and what they are referring to. I find the installation engineerimg is a bit excessive and not necessary. You do have to figure it out yourself where to shim the supports to fit your opening. I wish they hired IKEA’s engineers and designers. Good luck, if you can put it together which is possible and the price is right compared to other brands.

instructions weren’t very helpful. Had a hard time figuring to hide them out after mounted looks OK.

Although it was more expensive than the actual microwave, I had no issues with the installation and feel it was worth it. It looks great and the microwave is secure, even if an earthquake were to occur.
Perfect fix ! Easy to install. It took me about one hour to do it, only one thing I needed my wife to help me bring the microwave up to the cabinet than after that I finished installation the trim kit on microwave to cabinet. Look great! I love it!

Ok. So, we bought a big beautiful house. They had a small, aging Whirlpool microwave installed with a trim kit. We had just bought this big LG microwave, so my wife more or less insisted that we get this trim. I instantly regretted it. I mean, you can kinda tell from the photos that this thing is very shoddy. In fact, the whole thing (including the tray!) is just sheet metal with sharp edges. The instructions are terrible, and you have to cut out your own templates to install it. I measured everything very, very precisely, but this thing scratched up the microwave and my beautiful cabinets terribly when it came to "pop" it into place. The kit includes two oversized screws for each corner and the holes are dead in the corner, so even after drilling pilot holes they split the cabinet at the edges. Like I said it's just sheet metal, so none of it is straight or stays straight. Even after coaxing it as perfectly as possible, using shims, and attaching the fascade to the junky little tray, it's neveraligned. One of the four corners won't seat and it flush at the bottom of the microwave but not the top. So, after hours of painstaking work, you're left with trim that looks bad, scratches up everything, isn't straight, and drags on the door--causing damage every time you use it. It seems painfully obvious that this product is an aftermarket afterthought. Whirlpool's OEM kit, in contrast, features a very sturdy and straight tray, well-designed trim with boxed edges to avoid damage and add stregth, and an infinitely preferable appearance...plus it doesn't destroy your expensive microwave and cabinets. To top it all off, the trim costs almost as much as a microwave--though it would be pretty worthless at any price. Do youself a favor and avoid this overpriced gargage like the plague!

I had hoped that my old GE trim kit would work with the new LG microwave (we purchased from Best Buy!) , but it did not. Ordered the trim kit and was delivered quickly. Went right into the old cutout and worked like a charm. Perfect match for the microwave and looks great. My only issue I have is that these things are a little expensive. It is what it is.
