While Acer has not tested this with a Samsung product, it should work fine as long as the USB-C on the phone or tablet supports video out.
how does it get power
The Acer PM161Q Abmiuuzx gets power through either a single USB-C cable for laptops with compatible ports or the included AC adapter and power cord. When using a USB-C connection, the monitor draws power from the laptop, which also provides the video signal. Or the separate power adapter and micro-USB cable can connect the monitor to a wall outlet, especially when using an HDMI connection.
Does this monitor support pass through charging? Meaning can I use a wall power adapter capable for 50 watts (or more) into one USBC port, then connect the other USBC port to my Steam Deck to charge it while playing?
The PM161Q Abmiuuzx does not support traditional video pass-through charging. Because the monitor lacks its own dedicated pass-through power routing, hooking a wall adapter into one port and your Steam Deck into the other will not charge the Deck.
Can you attach an HDMI Roku or Firestick for streaming?
Yes, you can attach an HDMI Roku or Firestick to the Acer PM161Q Abmiuuzx portable monitor for streaming. The monitor includes a Mini HDMI port for video input and a Micro USB port for power.
