I personally don't. While using it, the outer pad of my hand rests comfortably on the mouse pad. I haven't tried using a wrist rest, but I think one might put your arm and hand at an uncomfortable angle that would be worse for ergonomics with this particular style of mouse. I've also noticed this mouse elevates my wrist enough that my watch band doesn't dig in, which is an unexpected plus.

yes. it uses regular batteries that seem to last a long time. however I do turn it off when using it to save on batteries. it is completely wireless and I use it on my MacBook Pro with no problems. they do make a less expensive one with a cord but I like wireless.

I am only a consumer but I read there was a left handed one to purchase from this manufacturer.

yes. my wife tried my adesso mouse and it worked fine for her smaller hands
