However, because very fine particles like micro-pollen or algae are often smaller than 150 microns, some of that ultra-fine dust may pass through the filter mesh or can cause the basket to clog more quickly during peak pollen seasons. It works best as a primary skimmer to catch the vast majority of floating organic material before it sinks.
