I had an Alienware 17R2 laptop for about a year and a half before purchasing this desktop. I thought my laptop was fast! This machine runs circles around it. It is incredibly fast. Boot time is few seconds due to the SSD and game play is so enjoyable due to the GTX 1080 graphics card. Its a bit pricy but well worth it! Anyone would love this PC!!

Wow, I've waited to upgrade and I'm glad I did. This rig went on sale and I grabbed it. The 1080GTX in it runs every game I have no problem and the fans don't even rev up. Inside the case, there is room to add more memory and hard drives if you want to but it has plenty of room as is. The WI FI works great and hooking audio to my amp was a snap. I have nothing bad to say about this computer. You can even change the lights on the sides and power switch.

I purchased this computer to help in re-building websites for my wife who manages 3 counties for the US Gen-web Project. She was using a older version for Dreamweaver on an XP Computer, switching to Website X5. (She now has a newer system, too!) The saving and re-compile took 2 hours. This computer cut that in HALF. I can't wait to try my video Programs on it. I do miss, not having a Blu-Ray Burner inside. Also, with a machine of the class, a cordless keyboard and mouse. This will be rectified soon. I plan on adding additional Hard Drives. There are plenty of USB ports and room for more memory. I have been enjoying the quick boot times. It is a lot faster than my previous Windows 7 system with a 6 core AMD processor. Which now resides hooked to 60" TV. I am happy with my purchase!

I purchased this computer to obtain a more powerful machine. I have wanted an Alienware machine for some time, almost buying one 5 years ago. Having found mine in a store close by I jumped on it. I have been impressed with the processor's performance. The storage system is twice as fast as my previous system. The Video card is fantastic, the card's CUDA processing helps in video work. I do have improvements I would like such as more RAM, Another SSD, Hard Disc Drive and cordless keyboard and mouse. But, as is it is a fantastic machine. Once in a while I get some fan noise to remind me it is working HARD. I Would recommend this to a friend, grandson or anyone needing a powerful computer. I have had this on about 2 months now and I give it a workout everyday.

When I was searching around for a new computer I knew I wanted to do a desktop since I wasn't in school anymore so I didn't need the mobility of a laptop anymore. I also wanted a desktop that had the ability to play Oculus Rift. So, that's when I found the AlienWare Aurora R5 model, I have to say this has been the best purchase for me, ever!!! It has the latest graphics card, amazing audio drivers, a Solid State drive for faster booting up and Terabyte of storage. It has everything I think a gamer would want. This has been the first AlienWare purchase for me, and I couldn't be happier.

I usually build systems as a hobby, but this year I decided to go with a pre-built Alienware system. I purchased this system primarily as a VR platform (bundled with the Oculus Rift) and it hasn't failed to impress. I'm able to play all VR titles on max detail (including DOOM and other AAA titles using VorpX) and the performance is buttery smooth. This system is also able to handle many games in 4K Resolution with full detail enabled (AA is not necessary at this resolution).

Lot of folks don’t care much for Alienware, and even less since Dell bought them out. However this set up works great for what I need it to do and is still performing 2 years after I bought it. The only problem I have had with it is the on board M.2 port that controls the SSD failed.

Very good performance. I would have gone for dual GTX 1080 for an ultimate experience.

This PC has one of the best graphics cards out there, it has no problem playing any of the games that I play on it. Only qualm I have with this is that the SSD is only 250 gb and I prefer the SSD over the other hard drive because of the speed difference

Very fast gaming computer. I like that it monitors the heat levels and adjusts the 3 fans automatically. Overheating is a common problem with gaming computers, especially laptops which are not very good for gaming because they overheat. Very cool computer!

I love this computer!. It is super fast!. Plays the oculus like a champ! No delays. Things do seem to load on the ssd and I'm sure it is operator error on my part but trying to figure it out. Otherwise it's a great computer and looks kool too!

Not much of a computer tech but this system is really fast, has more than enough space and pretty much works with any program. Draw back was it didn't read a couple of reader cards we have and difficut installing another dvd drive

My old PC died a few months before I decided to get another. For the money this is an excellent machine. Easy to setup, and easy to use. The Alienware FX / thermal controller could use some instructions on how to use.

This machine is loaded and about as fast as a machine you can purchase at retail at Best Buy. The 1080 card can handle the most demanding games! The styling of the tower and extra lighting is fun too.

Bought for gaming and everyday tasks by multiple family members. So far the support has been outstanding not that I needed anything. Very user friendly, made setup very easy.

So far the computer has been exquisite. Quiet, fast on start-up and shut-down. Plays games well and has a really crisp feel to it. Only problem has been that it crashes on the order of 3-4x per day. Just all of a sudden it reboots. Very annoying, but I think it's the Microsoft Windows software. Microsoft has packed this with all sorts of "use me" prompts, to try to outcompete google and apple. Seems like once I went ahead and made a user-account and such with microsoft, things crashed less. Still need to follow-up with them about that.

This computer is the perfect gaming computer, able to handle anything you throw at it! Easy to navigate the neat alienware features as well.

Great powerhouse will make everyone jealous. My only complaint is that it occasionally freeze or stops and you can only shut it down by holding the power button for 30+ seconds instead of the usual cntrl alt del buttons. Just haven't had time to call geek squad as to why. Love how you can change the color on each side of the box and the alien button however you would like and the Alien control app is awesome! Aside from that it will blow you away! I bought this for my child but I am in awe!

I was looking to build a computer recently and found this Alienware computer to have a great graphics card and processor and it came out about the same price. I have recently doubled the ram to 32Gb. It had only one slot taken with a 16Gb stick so I should eventually be able to upgrade to 64GB. Have to look into that though. Not using VR just yet but it runs simulator software very well. Always wanted an Alienware and recommend this model to anyone interested.
