I've had this desktop now for a month or so, and I have to say so far so good. It runs extremely fast with the 8th gen i7 processor, plenty of hard drive storage with the 256GB SSD and 1TB mechanical. Would say it's good for gaming and work, extremely fast and can handle any task thrown at it.

Overall, this is a great pc. The graphics and processing will keep me going for years. When installing things you have to make sure it's putting things in the secondary standard hard drive, because it will default to the small ssd meant for the os, and when some games can be 40 gb or more, that will fill up the remaining space fast. Now to the important warning. Killer Wireless. It does not like routers. They've fixed the issue with a lot of routers apparently but there are 5 that it hates with extreme prejudice. if you buy a pc with killer and own one of these 5 routers. plan on having to buy a new router for your pc, because as soon as you try to download anything big it will repeatedly crash the router on you so that you have to manually reset it, and I mean in under 5 minutes. NETGEAR WNDR5400 V3 TP-LINK TL-WR841N V11 (I had this one) TP-LINK ARCHER C7 AC1750 V2/V3 TP-LINK ARCHER D7 V1 TP-LINK MR6400 V1 I tried all the fixes the killer website offered and nothing would solve this problem. a cheap router will fix the problem though. I bought a $35 netgear dual band router that wasn't one of those 5, and it works perfectly. this pc can even recognize and use the higher band of wireless that the router put out, none of my other electronics could, including my previous gateway. Other then that single issue with the wireless card and needing to remember to set the install location, this beauty is perfect in my eyes. I've seen people call this a starter pc. a starter pc is 300-600, unless you're rich. You don't need a $3k pc unless you're a professional gamer running in tournaments. this works great looks great, you can even customize the lights on the outside. boots instantly and I expect to be able to use it for at least the next 6-10 years. This is a good investment, just remember to check your router if you buy ANY pc with killer wireless, dell uses it in a lot of their pcs not just alienware.

Had some issues at the beginning. Microsoft One Drive and the Killer Wireless card made me work to get to the sweet spot with this PC, but now that I am here it runs beautifully. I had to disable One Drive or everything would download to it, regardless of where I set the destination. The Killer Wireless card did not like my router, so I had to buy a new one. The graphics are worth the trouble though. Runs every game on high with amazing color and resolution. First time with an SSD, never going without one again, this PC boots so fast. I am definitely not an expert. Just know enough to be dangerous. If not for the issues at the beginning I would give it five stars.

For the price this machine contains the horsepower to run everything I have thrown at. Plenty of ports and two additional SSD mounting slots. The keyboard is ok, no frills mouse. Several big fans for cooling and they don’t sound like helicopters.

This is the best all around gaming desktop I've seen! The power and performance is excellent when compared to the price! I've ran several programs at once, with dozens of webpages pulled up and it never seems to struggle!

This was my 3rd attempt at a desktop and i am so glad i gave this one a shot. It is perfect. It is exactly what i was looking for. I do alot of gaming and uploading to youtube and this works exactly as i had hoped. It is very fast with no lag, great storage, the lights on the alien are real nice. Easy set up, came with virus protector, mouse and keyboard. I will be upgrading the keyboard as the one supplied is not as good as it should be. No lights or candy. I would recommend this desktop!

From a person who has assembled his last 4 gaming towers due to dissatisfaction with the components and cost of pre-assembled towers, it was wonderful to find one that met my high expectations for components and was still reasonably priced! I could not assemble an equivalent one for less $.

I've had this desktop for 3 months and it is fantastic. I had to return an MSI desktop due to a weird psu/burning smell and purchased the A7 instead. I could not be happier as gaming on it is fantastic as is multitasking, I have mine combined with the LG 32GK650F-B 32" monitor.

What can I say, but wow. This thing is awesome for running iRacing, and especially awesome at Oculus Rift. If you can swing it, this is the PC to have for getting into gaming and even into the advanced stuff. I never doubt that it will handle whatever I throw at it.

I love this pc! It's super fast and can handle any game on ultra settings! I bought an omen monitor for it and it works like a charm.

I love playing games like Witcher3. This computer coupled with my g-sync monitor produces awesome graphics. The details in the game are amazing. The Alienware is very quiet and so far I am very happy with my purchase.

I've been looking for a computer for a while now, and I am really happy I ended up with this R7. I've run a variety of games on it with the settings cranked at their highest and I have encountered zero issues.

My assessment is pretty simple. I was working with a 7 year old ASUS computer that had just gotten too slow to tolerate after years of software upgrades. I purchased this one specifically for the 8th gen i7 processor and 16 gigs of RAM because speed was my primary goal. Well, it is faster by a large measure, and I am satisfied. But it isn't as fast as I expected or really wanted. Simple as that.

I needed this for heavy graphics applications as well as processor intense calculation software. Even though it's labeled as a gaming system, I've put it to work.

Love this unit got it because two HO units failed within a week. This costs a bit more but well worth the money.
