Overly expensive and you can't get BB Canada without jailbreaking it. Parents were not too happy about that. Voice commands and system link are nice but the tech is too common to be a feature worth so much money.

Awfully slow interface now as it is more GoogleTV centric. I can forgive it on a firetv stick but the Cube just is garbage. The Ethernet jack is only 100 Meg, which makes zero sense (but it is built in so that is a step up from the previous editions external dongle). It is still running a marginally improved same CPU from the last generation firetv cube, has 2 Meg of ram, which is just abysmal (same as it’s predecessor) and 16 Meg of storage. The Bluetooth is 5.2 opposed to 5.0 which is not game changing by any means and nothing has changed compared to the prior gen in terms of format support (2160p, atmos, hdr10+, all your common formats). There is an hdmi in port now. I cannot find any specifics as to it being hdmi 2.0 vs 2.1 but nothing here shouts 2.1. You can potentially control a third party device with Alexa if that’s your thing but with HDMI-CEC,it doesn’t make much sense. All in all, this is a bust in my opinion. They have also locked down some of if not all of the ability to install your own APK files so you are locked to the App Store of Amazon. Fire OS is actually Android 9, so enjoy those feature, security and cve updates from Android TV 11+, it is also purely 32 bit but since it does not support modern apps or apks outside of Amazon’s store that won’t impact you. You can do your own homework on the cpu but in the end the chip is an Amlogic POP1-G under clocked and the mali gpu is embedded. Wifi6e is great on paper but not many of us nor is there a great deal of certified routers or even network cards in deployment. The storage is god awful slow emmc. In the end, I cannot recommend this device as there isn’t more than some codec licensing which will only apply to corner cases. The device is slow and it’s underpowered compared to the latest AppleTV which can do all the same but at a lower price point (Wi-Fi model). Also, there are alternatives that do almost all of this and will work equally well at a cheaper price point.

The cube doesn't work nearly as well as the Firestick. Some applications do not integrate well. Icons on side loaded apps are blank. It freezes occasionally and has to be restarted quite a bit. The speed and resolution, realistically, are about the same as the firestick, so, if you're not stuck on the "hey alexa" voice control feature, or absolutely need the extra memory, skip this device and keep the stick.

1. my excitement to upgrade from Amazon Fire Stick 4k to CUBE, ended in COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT. Better stick to STICK and save yourself lots of money. 2. BEST BUY is NOT customer friendly. Their return policy is ruthless and unfriendly. So, avoid both the Fire TV Cube 3rd Gen Streaming Media Player with 4K Ultra and BEST BUY

These things are nightmares. Any hardware Amazon has put out recently has been full of issues for me. First, the remote wasn't paired with the unit. I had to directly connect it to my router to get my phone app remote to work. Still haven't been able to pair the remote. Also, every time I ask it to open a program, it changes in the input on my TV to another input. This thing is a headache to use.

The RJ45 port is only 100mbs, slow in terms of todays standard, also locked up all the time. I returned and got a google TV streamer with 1000mbs port.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with the Fire TV Cube. I'm sorry to hear about the frustrations you encountered — both the 100Mbps Ethernet port limitation and the frequent lockups are understandably significant pain points, especially given today's connectivity standards.
For most streaming use cases including 4K HDR content 100Mbps is technically sufficient, as even the most demanding 4K streams typically require 25–50Mbps. However, if you have a high-speed internet plan and multiple devices on your network, the bottleneck can become noticeable, and it's a fair criticism of the hardware specification.
Regarding the Frequent Lockups: For anyone still using the Fire TV Cube and experiencing lockups, here are some steps that can help resolve the issue:
Restart the Device — Go to Settings > My Fire TV > Restart, or unplug the power cable, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
Clear App Cache — Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications, select problematic apps, and choose Clear Cache.
Free Up Storage — Uninstall unused apps to ensure the device has adequate storage and memory headroom.
Check for Software Updates — Go to Settings > My Fire TV > About > Check for Updates to ensure the latest firmware is installed.
Factory Reset — As a last resort, go to Settings > My Fire TV > Reset to Factory Defaults to restore the device to its original state.
If these steps do not resolve persistent lockup issues, Amazon Customer Support is available 24/7 at 1-888-280-4331 and can assist further.
Thank you for your feedback it's genuinely valuable in helping others make informed decisions. I hope your Google TV Streamer is serving you well! Have a great day!

This product is GARBAGE. ONLY the Prime video app works. Every other 3rd party streaming app that I downloaded had audio sync issues. After spending 5-10 minutes fiddling with the sync controls you can get it almost perfect but as soon as you turn off the cube all of your settings are lost. All of the 3rd party apps are noticeably dimmer/darker than the Prime app or the same 35d party app running on my 5 year old Roku stick. This is supposedly WiFi 6e but running speed tests from the cubes own menu show that the best I could get on WiFi is 91 mbps which is slower than its pathetic 100 mbps ethernet port. Updates to the cube's firmware fail 90% of the time. When you can get the updates to work they don't fix anything. Did I ,emtion the nonstop barrage of Amazon ads getting pumped onto my screen? Don't spend money on this. Buy a new Roku or Apple TV box instead. I promise you will be much happier. I'm going to see if I can return this and if not, it will be more e-waste in the landfill.
Bought the fire cube in July of 2024. Shortly after it was past its returnable date unless I do the big inconvenient manufacture return it staryed doing weird glitch stuff like showing bright red static screen while then showing the actual picture then back to red static. It goes offline all the time and everytime it gets an updaye it forces a log in to all my streaming services saying it's a new device. My disneyplus.com has locked me out because it keeps seeing new device every couple of weeks to which I have to call disneyplus.com tech support to verify it's actually my cube in my home. Dont waste your money on this cube.

Hello BenjaminSaylor! I am so sorry to hear that you are having these issues with your Fire TV Cube. This is our premium streaming device that should have a premium experience along with it. Your device is functioning in a way that none of our Fire TV Cubes are supposed to. I know you mentioned that you are currently out of the exchange policy with Best Buy so I would recommend contacting Amazon Customer Support at 888.280.4331 for additional troubleshooting if you haven't already as there are a few troubleshooting steps they may recommend that could resolve your issue. They can also discuss what options are available to you otherwise. A typical software update (which we do to ensure that you have the latest patches for resolving any glitches and continuously improve upon your experience) should not require you to log back in to your apps and services every time. I apologize again for the trouble you are having and I hope we are able to resolve your issue and get you the premium experience you should be having with your Fire Cube. Thank you again for your time and I hope you have a great day!

Please be careful when you spend your money at Best Buy. They are a rip off. I purchased the wrong item. I sent it back after a month. They tell me I sent them an empty box after I kept asking where is my refund? Where is my refund? that’s the answer they gave me that I’ve mailed back an empty box never any proper customer service they brush you off and tell you you were receive a call in two days after trying for 10 times. It’s the same exact words each customer service representative tell you they have in front of them tell you how important you are and then they brush you off you never hear from them again I do not have $119 to throw away. Be careful, they all have a story and a game to play with our money

This fire TV will not work with a Klipsch soundbar
Posted
Hi ChuckS,
Thank you for sharing your feedback about the Fire TV Cube. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing compatibility issues with your Klipsch soundbar—that's definitely frustrating when you expect your devices to work together seamlessly.
The Fire TV Cube should be compatible with most soundbars, including Klipsch models, through HDMI-ARC/eARC or optical audio connections. Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help resolve the connection issue:
Check HDMI-ARC connection: Ensure the Fire TV Cube is connected to your TV's HDMI-ARC port, and that your Klipsch soundbar is also connected to the TV's HDMI-ARC port (or optical audio output)
Enable HDMI-CEC: Go to Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio > HDMI-CEC Device Control and make sure it's enabled on both your TV and Fire TV Cube
Adjust audio settings: Go to Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio and try different audio output options (Dolby Digital, Stereo, or Auto)
Update firmware: Ensure both your Fire TV Cube and Klipsch soundbar have the latest firmware updates installed
Try optical connection: If HDMI-ARC isn't working, connect your soundbar to the TV via optical cable instead
If these steps don't resolve the compatibility issue, I'd recommend contacting our support team at 1-888-280-4331 or through the Amazon app. They can help troubleshoot further and may have specific guidance for your Klipsch soundbar model. You might also want to reach out to Klipsch support to ensure your soundbar is configured correctly for external devices.
Your feedback about this compatibility challenge is valuable and helps us identify where additional support or documentation may be needed.

This product is not working with samsung neo qled 8k. I have connected through hdmi cable. My old fire stick was better than this expensive fire tv cube

Hello Rakesh. Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear the Fire TV Cube 3rd Gen isn't working with your Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV. It's especially frustrating since your previous Fire Stick worked well, and I understand your disappointment. Some quick troubleshooting steps that might help: try using a different HDMI port on your TV, ensure you're using the HDMI cable that came with the Cube, check if both devices have the latest software updates, and make sure the Cube's power adapter is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. If you've already tried these steps, you may want to verify your TV's settings are configured for optimal compatibility with external devices. I hope that helps, and have a great day.

Keeps taking control of my TV source when I don't want it to. I have it connected on an on off switch so I can turn it off when I don't use it so that it doesn't randomly take control. I know I can disable CEC but when I want to use it, I want it to take control of the video source.
Posted
Hello Brad! Thank you so much for your feedback and review of your experience with your Fire TV Cube. I can see how your device taking control of your source when you don't want it to can be frustrating. You are correct that you can typically switch off access to your Fire TV Cube from being able to do this through the CEC function of your TV, but as you stated this would prevent you from being able to selectively take control without having to go back into the HDMI setting of your TV. One thing that could assist, is that this device has an HDMI pass through feature that allows you to plug in another source directly through it so that you could potentially not have to change sources for that device. This would limit you to only being able to do this with one additional device unless you were to get an HDMI hub but if you are using only one other device, this may be your best solution. I hope this helps some and that you are able to enjoy everything else about your Fire TV Cube! Thanks again for your feedback and time and I hope you have a great day!

As far as ease of use this thing bombs. I purchased this for one TV and a ROKU for my second. The ROKU I hade set up in Minutes. I spent an hour working with the Fire Cube and never did get it completely set up. I wanted to get away from my terrible Samsung menu and got one that was even worse. I had to google to get instructions on how to add and remove channel and then Spectrum wasn't even listed??? I don't get the positive reviews. Huge disappointment. Returning it for another ROKU device that actually works.

You can download different apps and get lots of free tv channels. Same as firestick but more $$$$$ stick with firestick.

Hello, JaimeS. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Fire TV Cube. The Fire TV Cube features hands-free Alexa with a built-in mic and speakers - control your compatible TV, soundbar, and receivers with your voice, even from across the room. The Fire TV Cube also features additional ports: an HDMI port so you can connect and control other entertainment devices with just your voice, USB-A 2.0 for added storage, and an Ethernet port 10/100 Mbps for wired access. If you have any questions about the device or need assistance, I recommend reaching out to Amazon Customer Support at 1-888-280-4331. Thank you for providing feedback; have a wonderful day!

Bought two CUBES; one for our new 83" LG OLED and another to replace the Firestick on our Sony 65" TV. Both CUBES would shut off continuously and after 2 attempts by Geek Squad, it was decided to revert to the Firesticks, which resolved the issues.

Got this hoping it would perform better than my outdated firestick. Its actually worse. ALL streaming apps continuously freeze. The only one that works good is the Prime video app, which seems very suspect to me. Just buy a roku. much better

Thank you for your feedback Wrong WayFPV. I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your Amazon Fire TV Cube 3rd gen. Let's try some basic troubleshooting to help resolve the issue. First, let's restart your Fire TV Cube.
Use the power adapter and connection equipment that came with your device.
Verify that your TV is on and set to the correct HDMI input channel.
Make sure that connected devices (A/V receiver or soundbar) are turned on.
Confirm that your TV is HDCP-compliant. Review the video-cable section of the TV owner's manual.
Be sure that the HDMI cable is fully connected to both your TV and Fire TV Cube.
Use a High-Speed HDMI cable.
Try replacing your HDMI cable or HDMI hub with a new one.
Check your TV for firmware updates. If this information does not help, you can reach Amazon Customer service 24/7 for assistance. You can reach them at 1-888-280-4331. I hope this information helps, thank you!

I have many firesticks in my home and they work great but cube sucks. Whether wireless or hard wire with a cat6 it will often not show all the apps and images on the home page.
Posted
Hello Jwill. I am so sorry you are having trouble using your Fire TV Cube. This device has a better Wi-Fi connection and a faster processor than any other Fire TV device so this is not the typical experience one should expect from this. I would suggest navigating to Settings>Device>Software to see if there is an update that needs to be installed. I will say that the Wi-Fi 6E connection will probably give you a better experience than hardwiring it due to the ethernet port only being capable of 100Mbps while Wi-Fi depending on your Internet Service Provider may get you much faster speeds. I hope this helps enhance or improve your experience some and we thank you for taking the time to provide your valued feedback. I hope you have a nice day!

Hello Meka! Thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to hear about your Fire TV Cube not working.
Try these steps: Reset Your Fire TV Cube. If your Fire TV Cube is unresponsive, press and hold the Volume Down and Mute buttons until the light flashes blue (about 40 seconds). Tip: Restart your device first to see if it resolves the problem. Just unplug the power adapter and then plug it back in. Your account information and downloaded content are deleted during a factory reset. To reset your device using Settings, follow these steps: Go to Settings on your Fire TV Cube. Select My Fire TV. Select Reset to Factory Defaults. I hope these tips help get your Fire TV Cube working again but if not, Please contact Amazon customer service at 1-888-280-4331 for further troubleshooting.
