The Fire TV Cube is a really neat gadget that makes streaming super easy. I love how it integrates all my entertainment hubs into one simple device. It's so convenient for controlling everything with just my voice. However, it was a bummer that I couldn't set up a kids' profile. My toddler is too young to navigate the adult interface without getting into things he shouldn't. It would be awesome if they added that feature so my son could enjoy it more safely.

Hello, worthtobuy! Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Fire TV Cube. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the convenience of voice control and the seamless integration of your entertainment hubs into one device.
I understand your concern about not being able to set up a kids' profile for your toddler. Amazon does offer parental control features on Fire TV devices that can help create a safer viewing environment for young children. From your Fire TV home screen, go to Settings, select Preferences, choose Parental Controls, turn on Parental Controls and create a PIN. You can then restrict content by rating (G, PG, PG-13, R, etc.), block specific content types or apps, and set viewing restrictions for Prime Video content. While Fire TV doesn't have a dedicated "kids profile", you can subscribe to Amazon Kids+, which provides age-appropriate content curated for children, parental controls and time limits, and educational shows, movies, and games designed for young viewers. You can also hide apps and channels from the main interface, set up purchase restrictions with PIN protection, use the "Restrict" feature to block specific titles or content categories, and enable voice purchasing restrictions to prevent accidental purchases.
These controls should help create a more child-friendly experience for your toddler while still allowing you to enjoy the full functionality of your Fire TV Cube. If you need further assistance setting up these parental controls or have questions about Amazon Kids+, Amazon Customer Support is available 24/7 at 1-888-280-4331. Again, thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and I hope these features help make the Fire TV Cube work better for your whole family!

Hello David1217!
Thank you for your feedback on the Fire TV Cube. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with voice commands, power control, and sound when using it with your LG TV.
Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help resolve these issues. For voice command problems, try moving the Fire TV Cube away from other speakers or devices that may interfere with the microphone, and ensure the device software is up to date by going to Settings > My Fire TV > About > Check for Updates. For the TV power on/off issue, go to Settings > Equipment Control > Manage Equipment and re-run the setup for your LG TV to ensure the correct IR and HDMI-CEC settings are configured. Make sure HDMI-CEC (called "SimpLink" on LG TVs) is enabled in your TV's settings. For the sound issues, check that the audio output settings on the Fire TV Cube match your setup by going to Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio, and try switching between audio formats such as Stereo, Dolby Digital, or Best Available to see which works best with your LG TV.
I hope this information helps get your Fire TV Cube working properly for you. Have a great day!

Have to say this is disappointing. There are annoying audio syncing issues, which Amazon is aware of. But their method of fixing it is kind of bizarre and it doesn't work anyway. The strangest part is that the audio sync problem is only with Amazon Prime videos. All the other streaming apps work fine. The other issue is I'm using it to control my TV, receiver, and satellite box, but everytime I tell it to turn on the TV it goes straight to Fire TV instead of the satellite. Very annoying and difficult to fix. They have their own "live tv" option which is even worse. I can't get rid of that, it's an annoying button on the remote. The worst of all is the picture quality isn't as good as Chromecast or the apps on my Samsung TV. I kind of want to return this but I'll keep trying. It's only been a month, maybe it will get better. Overall it's a bummer.

Initially buying with the best intentions, however turns out this Cube - which was recently bought (in May 2025), tha looked new in the box was actually from 2022... Lots of glitches with performance, updates, connection drops, etc. Had to return -- turns out per Best Buy, they knew this model was from 2022 but wasnt sure why it was still on the shelves. Recommendation - always check the year the product was made and make sure it has the most recent wifi, networking and memory needs for current year requirements. (2025)

Home Screen Prioritizes Amazon Content. Banner adds annoying. Amazon Apps added to "My Apps" and can't un-install . Overall disappointed with this product, only using for one app that Roku doesn't support.

Dear JIMEM,
Thank you for your candid feedback about the Fire TV Cube. You raise valid points about the user interface and Amazon content prioritization.
While the device is designed to integrate with Amazon's ecosystem, we understand your frustration regarding:
Intrusive banner ads
Pre-installed Amazon apps
Limited customization options
For users primarily interested in non-Amazon content, we suggest:
Customizing the home screen where possible
Using voice commands to bypass menus
Consider returning the device if it's not meeting your needs

Tv picture and streaming is great. HDMI switching however is a struggle with multiple components. I ended up returning. Would work if better probably with a simple tv, set top box and sound bar set up.

Its easy to setup. Audio isnt the loudest. Audio isnt for the device you connect to hdmi. Its only for alexa and playing music.

Hello user780629,
Thank you for your feedback on the Fire TV Cube. I am sorry to hear about the audio issues your experiencing. The Fire TV Cube generally offers very good audio quality for a streaming device, however, the experience depends on having a compatible home theater system, as the Cube is designed to output sound through your existing speakers, soundbar, or AV receiver, not its own speaker. The Cube acts as a source device, sending audio to your connected soundbar or AV receiver for playback. The quality you hear ultimately depends on the capabilities of your sound system. If you are still experiencing audio problems you can call Amazon customer service, available 24/7 you can reach them at 1-888-280-4331. I hope this information is helpful, thank you!

Very unsatisfied with the picture quality. I also have Roku on the same TV and the picture is outstanding. With the Cube the pic is snowy on some channels. Same channels on Roku, no problem.

I did like this..however had to exchange this because it kept freezing. I had to do restarts every day. The exchanged unit did the same thing. I finally returned and got the Fire 4K Max, which I paired with my Echo Dot. Much much better…with no freezing issues.

Not too satisfactory with this product because Alexa don’t play music when I ask for a song said yes Amazon music but it won’t play

Hello Dani! I'm sorry to hear about the issues you are facing playing music on the Fire TV Cube. First, make sure the microphone on the Fire TV Cube is on. If it's on and Alexa still doesn't play music from Amazon music, unplug your Fire TV Cube for 10 seconds and plug it back in. Make sure the Fire TV Cube has the most up to date software. If these don't work, make sure you have your music streaming services added in your Alexa app. If you're still facing issues with this, please call Amazon Customer Service for additional support. You can reach them at 1-888-280-4331 and they are available 24/7. Hope this helps and have a great day!

Fire cube is a great idea and we know how it works because we have another one. This one heats up and shuts off! In the middle of a good show or movie and you can’t get it back!
Gojojo Posted
It keeps blacking out during Netflix program and Dolby vision keeps appearing on screen after intermittent issue.
Posted
Hello Gojojo. I am so sorry you are having issues with your Fire TV Cube. What you are describing sounds like it is an issue with the Dolby Vision feature on your television set and input rather than the Fire TV Cube itself. I would recommend trying to plug it into a different input to see if that fixes it or try a different HDMI cable. You may also want to ensure that the cable is plugged in firmly to your HDMI ports. If this does not help solve your problem, you can try contacting Amazon Customer Support at 888.280.4331 to troubleshoot further. I hope this helps improve your experience and that you have a great day!

Need to return this item. The cube works great but the remote input works about 20% of the time.

I was unable to connect the fire cube to my wifi. I had to use an ethernet cable.

Hello ArnoldB,
I'm sorry for your experience with the Fire TV Cube, thank you for your feedback. Here are some things you can do to fix issues with Wi-Fi connections with your device: Select Settings > Network from the Fire TV menu, then Play/Pause on your remote, and follow the recommended steps.
Use the included features to help with troubleshooting:
-Wi-Fi switch: Use the switch to turn off/on the internet connection to your Fire TV device.
-Reboot Fire TV: Use this option to restart your Fire TV device from the Wi-Fi troubleshooting page on the device.
If the connection issue persists try the following:
-Use the connectors and cables that came with your Fire TV device.
-Confirm that you are using a Wi-Fi password and not an Amazon account password.
-Store your Fire TV out of enclosed areas such as closets that block your Wi-Fi signal.
-Restart your Fire TV device and any home network devices like modems or routers.
I hope that has helped! Have a great day!
