Works great for everything I need, whether it’s school or gaming to relax, it goes above and beyond what I thought was possible. Was an Intel fanboy for decades but recently switched to Ryzen, it’s the future!

[Employee of bestbuy] I bought the Ryzen 7 9700X from Best Buy and installed it myself, which honestly was a fun part of the whole build. First time dealing with an AM5 chip and it went in smooth, no problems there. As for performance, it’s pretty solid overall. It handles gaming and multitasking well, and I haven’t had any major issues. But if I’m being real, I kind of expected a little more for the price. It’s not bad—just not mind-blowing either. I’d still give it somewhere between a 3.5 and 4 out of 5. If you’re building a new rig and want something current-gen without totally breaking the bank, it’s a great option. Just don’t expect it to feel like a massive jump unless you're upgrading from something really old.

Was worried from reviews online, but coming from a R7 3700X, WOW. What an improvement. My framerate has doubled on average in most games using my 4070. I did not realize my old CPU was bottlenecking me so hard. And this CPU uses way less energy to get the performance as well. Win win.

Fantastic cpu hands down, Better performance better single core slightly higher power usage but phenomenal. If your a hardcore gamer this is as good as 3D cache cpus but 4% difference in latency which is not measurable to eyes take the leap. A great choice for those who can’t reach a 3D cpu in stock the difference is so small I’d recommend this instead

The Ryzen 7 9700-x has a good balance of performance and power( while maintaining efficiency). The single-core performance is also much improved from its predecessor(s). All in all great mid-range chip, just don't expect top of the line benchmarks!

This CPU has great performance. It is quick on daily tasks and even games at a high level. Best Buy also price matched a competitor so it was an even better deal.

May not be an x3d model but has run strong on many titles and streaming for over a year. Would highly recomend for a budget high tier pc

the cpu stays at low temps and the wattage usage on it is pretty low

I honestly would have gone to a higher specced cpu but for the price and the face my system died i could not refuse this cpu and motherboard upgrade especially since i was on am4 at the time. I am water cooled so it keeps the temps down and unlocking the 105W mode gave it another 11% performance boost!
