I'm disappointed that this backup unit does not come with software to turn off the computer if the power goes out. Nor does it allow you to use any type of software for shutting down the computer. If I had know that, I would not have purchased this unit. I've had three backup units over the years and they were all capable of shutting off my computers. My feeling is that the ability to shut down down the computer during a power outages is important to protecting the computer and not to just provide electricity to keep it going for a few minutes.

I’m crossing my fingers that these work (I purchased 2) to protect 2 of my brand new & over 3K each Apple MacBookPro16inches. They’re scaring me to death bc of the buzzing noise when unplugged and several sudden shut-offs when I plugged the electric cord into the wall socket! Not sure about the quality of these...

The change in dimensions restricts placement of the UPS because of the added height. I liked the older, lower profile devices from APC.

Only works with standard plugs as if you have power cords with large adapter blocks like most computers have you only get about 3 of the battery outlets available to use. Seems if the would have turned them 90 like my cyber power version did it would eliminate this issue. Ended up plugging in a power strip to allow all the connections to occur. Such a disappointment

Locating the control switch on the same side as the outlet totally sucks.

Returned it. Not convinced we need it yet. Maybe next year.

It seems to work just fine... no issues so far....

Returning because my assortment of ac plugs are at weird angles and this unit requires more uniform plugs.

They have removed the USB monitoring port, which was one of the best features.

We had to return this since it didn't have the correct hookup for our computer

Cannot replace the battery without taking it to a shop;

No longer has a replaceable battery. Prior home and small office units had replaceable batteries which resulted in long service life and low average lifetime cost. This new model line is a throw away, which requires expensive replacement at high cost.

I didn't expect this. This UPS does not have a way for the UPS to communicate with the PC to let it know that power has failed and to shutdown. If you're protecting your HI-FI or TV that's not a problem, but a computer needs to shutdown or hibernate. Without that feature it's just a delayed but still unexpected crash when the battery discharges. It's odd that a unit with such a high VA rating doesn't have this.

Thank you for taking the time to review our UPS. Unfortunately you are correct that there is no data port on the BVN900M1. I will pass along your feedback about the unit as well.
