The battery backup-portion of the unit completely failed after about a year, now it only functions as a heavy power strip. Every outlet on the battery backup portion no longer works and the unit does not power on. There weren't any surges or power losses when this happened either (which is what it's designed to handle so I'd be surprised if that's what caused it to fail). Followed manufacturer troubleshooting to no avail. Still under warranty, however I'm still quite disappointed.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about our BN1050M UPS. I am sorry to hear of the issues you are facing and apologize for any inconvenience it has caused. Typical life span of UPS on average is 7-10 years but that will depend on environment and factors such as input power quality. Also this UPS would come with a 3 year warranty just in case there are factory defects. At your earliest convenience please reach out to APCbySchneider to troubleshoot the issue further and find out root cause and if it is due to a factory defect we can send you a replacement. We offer email and chat services through our support site and you may also contact us directly at 800-800-4272 option 4 or visit https://www.se.com/us/en/work/support/ and look for the chat icon available from 8AM-8PM EST.

It frequently will power back on after being turned off. I have to remove the battery and let it sit for roughly 5 minutes and maybe it will turn back on. Happened just a few days after the store's return window. It may be related to this; the contacts for the battery are extremely stressed when connected and the battery is fit back in the body of the unit. I wouldn't recommend. I will need to contact the manufacturer for any assistance.

Hello,
We value our customers and we are extremely sorry about this inconvenience.
The reason for the APC - Back-UPS Pro 1050VA causing a drop in the Wifi router could be due to several factors. One possible reason is that the equipment connected to the wrong outlets on the Back-UPS product, which do not provide backup power. Another reason could be capacity overload, where the total wattage of the equipment exceeds the maximum wattage supported by the battery backup outlets. Additionally, the circuit breaker on the UPS may have tripped due to a severe overload. It is also possible that the UPS has exhausted its available battery power or that the connected equipment does not accept the stepped-approximated sine wave output of the UPS. Another potential reason could be a faulty power supply in the equipment or the absence of APC management software when a communication cable is attached. If none of these reasons apply, the UPS itself may be faulty.
We are encouraging you to contact our Tech Support team through chat or call us at 1-800-800-4272. We will make sure we resolve this for you.
