After 2 months of owning it, it failed on me. There wasn't even a power outage it just started beeping with an error message and had to be shut off. The company though has really good support and replaced it quickly after a detailed diagnostic session. The new one is working fine, hopefully that was just a one-off issue. Anyway, my use was to power my ubiquiti Network gear because whenever there's a power flicker the whole thing shuts off and takes almost 10 minutes to turn back on. This gives me plenty of time to switch over to my whole home battery backup so I can continue working. I work from home so the 10-minute down times were frustrating and this fixed that issue.

Instead of using this device to backup my computer, I used it to backup the following: CPAP breathing machine, cable modem, wireless router, network connected alarm clock, cordless phone, nightstand led light, Slingbox, cable digital converter box, small HDMI to Component box, and phone charger (see picture – if you look carefully, the Slingbox is under the nightstand). The APC unit handles all these devices very well. I also have additional devices connected to the back of this unit, such as a small 19-inch television and a laptop power cord, but those devices are only plugged into the surge protected outlets. This unit comes with 10 outlets; all ten provide surge protection, but 6 of the 10 provide battery backup in case of a power outage. In total, I have 10 devices plugged into the 6 battery backup outlets. I was able to accomplish this by using high quality/low gauge 3 Outlet 1-foot extension cords (see picture). To prevent damaging the unit, and causing any electrical hazards, if using an extension cord, the shorter the better, and additional power strips with surge protectors are not recommended. In terms of use, except for the CPAP machine, which I plug directly into the back of the unit, most of the other devices are connected to one of these short extension cords. It’s important to note that the overall load from all the devices connected to the UPS is very low. If I was running larger equipment, such as a computer, I wouldn’t be backing up this number of devices. In total, the 10 devices only used about 7% of this units 810-Watt load capacity (see picture). When the CPAP breathing machine is not running, the display shows the unit lasting for about 173 minutes (close to 3 hours). When the breathing machine is running, the display estimates the UPC unit will supply backup power for about 91 minutes to all 10 devices. Please note: I do not have any expectations that this UPC unit will run my CPAP machine on backup power throughout the entire night. I do, however, appreciate that it’s there as a temporary backup if the power goes out for short periods of time. With the built-in alarm in this UPC unit, I would have enough time to wake up and properly takeoff my sleep mask. To test this system, I simulated a power outage by turning off the power to the whole house; I flipped the main circuit breaker. The unit automatically switched to back-up power and every single one of the devices continued to work properly. I was able to maintain communication with the outside world via the wireless internet and was even able to watch TV through my laptop, steaming from the Slingbox. Overall, I am highly impressed with this unit. The rated amount of time these batteries are expected to last are about 3 years. I will be happy if I get close to that before I need to replace the batteries, which is common with UPC backup units. The only complaint I have is a soft wisping noise the unit produces every few seconds while running on regular household current. The unit is situated on the floor, near the other side of my nightstand. I only hear it when I’m a few feet away and the room is completely silent. Otherwise, I don’t hear it at night because either the fan, air conditioning, or breathing machine drowns it out. If it wasn’t for the wisping noise, I would give it 5 stars. Otherwise, it’s a strong 4.5 stars.

I have 2 of these. 1 for my entertainment center and 1 for my computer desk. It provides top quality surge protection, battery backup plus clean electric power. Peace of mind plus none of my power bricks hum or whine like they sometimes do when plugged in a basic type surge protector/power strip. I do hope they redesign the outlets on the back with a little more space between them and made even a couple outlets at 90 degrees to accommodate oversized and different orientation plugs that are common on routers, modems and network switches.

Hard to beat APC for UPSs, until the batteries die. You can replace them - I've had that work ONCE! Usually the UPS is shot, so just replace it. That's how I bought this one! They work well nd last quite awhile.

Excellent UPS, simple to install has two USB charge ports in the front too, quick delivery, easy to install, APC offers a download of PowerChute software to automatically shutdown the PC and devices if the power fails.

So far this battery backup has worked very well. It has been tested multiple times by storms and other random power outages. It always kicks on quickly and keeps my devices running until the power comes back on. Knocking off 1 star for the slight whine it produces. Not enough to really fuss about, but its there and can be heard when the room is quiet.

Purchased the APC Back-UPS Pro 1350VA model as it was similar to a model I had who batteries had expired. The APC Back-UPS Pro 1350VA was easy to install, with clear instructions.

I'm sure this will be a great product. I just set it up but had to call a male neighbor to come over to remove the battery door so I could hook up the battery. Opening the door involves pushing down in two places that are further apart than the average female hand can do while pulling outward to expose the batteries. It was easy to set up after that. I don't know enough about the product to say more at this point. It's brand new, replacing a 6 year old UPS backup product of another brand that finally bit the dust.

Great battery backup for several high powered devices

Plenty of backup power in a small form factor. The display tells you everything you need. When I installed it it indicated a wiring fault. I brought in an electrician and sure enough the outlets polarity was reversed. The electrician put in a new outlet and the wiring fault indicator was no longer lit. While the work was being done this unit carried the old of my Mac, modem, monitor and wireless router and reported 90 minutes of capacity. It has a USB-A and USB-C ports on the front should you need to charge a phone in a power outage.

Good to have for a surge and purge system, however, there is a hidden sound and don’t know how to turn it off. It is convenient to have and easy to install.

Had a very difficult time getting the software to download as instructed. If you read the instructions it states that a certain program must be on the computer but nothing stating this was on the box to be seen before purchasing. took several calls to Tech support to finally get unit installed. Only way I knew to test after installation to make sure unit functioned was to unplug unit for the power to make sure the back up worked and took over to supply the unit.

relatively easy to setup (battery connection could be easier) and so far working as advertised

Replaced a 450watt APC unit, this one is bigger and better all around.

This worked very well. I had it set up to power a laptop connected to extra monitors, storage disks and scanners. However, I made the mistake of locating it under a desk in one of the hotter rooms in the house, which shorten its life. Recommend placing in a spot with excellent circulation.

On first sight and setting it up, it seems like a good unit. Lots of options for adding PC's and Monitors. Won't really know the rating until I see it in action. Fortunately we don't have power out very often or a lot of lighting storms so I can't really give it a full rating. So I guess it would deserve a 5 star rating - but will find out if that time comes to see it working.
