Upon opening the box, I was a bit disappointed to see many scuff marks on the headphone case, yellowing headband, and dirty earcups, which were also on the wrong sides of the headphones. This honestly feels like when your older sibling gets a new device and they give you their old one as a hand me down. In terms of cosmetic defects. There weren’t really any more on the actual headphones. I had also gotten a pop-up saying that there was another Apple ID connected to the headphones so clearly they weren’t factory reset. You can also tell they weren’t cleaned, and I actually had to clean them myself, but for the price I got them at they really aren’t bad. There are sometimes where the headphones won’t detect my phone and I have to connect them through the control center which can be annoying, but it isn’t the end of the world. Despite all those negatives, the headphones genuinely sound great, and they feel as premium as ever.

Full disclosure, I own almost everything Apple makes. So it only made sense for me to give these a try despite all their shortcomings. First and immediate impression was that they are uncomfortable. It felt like I had a barbell on top of my head. Sound was good but not earth shattering. Their best feature is the crown/dial functionality. I returned them after two days and went on a Headphone finding mission. Tried out the popular five.... Returned the Sony's, and the Sennheiser's. Kept the Bose Ultra's for their lightweight design. They sound like you are listening within the confines of a recording studio. I Kept the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e because they sound and, in blue look absolutely awesome. If you're on a budget wait for a sale and get these for around $249. You will not regret it!!!! I also kept the Focal Bathy's because their wired DAC, and wireless sound are absolutely phenomenal. Their downside is they're a bit big, pricey and otherwise blingy. Need a final decision go with Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e over these AirPods Max headphones. Oops one last note the functionality of all three of these headphones work great.

they are not loud enough. the noise cancelation does not cancel all the noise out I can still hear others .

The sound quality is good. However the headphones are a bit tight on the head. So wearing for long durations gets uncomfortable rather quickly.

I'm very deep into the Apple ecosystem and have been accused of being a fanboy. But after a few months, these just don't excite me, and I'm more and more disappointed and frustrated. I previously had a pair of Bose QC 35 because I travel a lot. The AirPod Max wasn't designed for travel. The case is terrible and not very compact. I bought lighting to 3.5mm cable to connect them to my work PC and for in-flight entertainment but can't seem to get them to connect on a hard wire connection (or a Bluetooth connection for my PC.) The sound quality is great, and they are comfortable. But are slightly heavy, but built well. As long as I'm using an Apple product, they're fine. But overall, I wish I had just stuck with Bose.

AirPod Max: Overall a good experience, still not clear on what “Certified Refurbished” means as the product arrived in clearly used condition. The biggest issue for me is a privacy issues, the AirPod Max is still tied to the original owners ICloud account and there no way to reset it. I “assumed” that Certified Refurbished meant a COMPLETE factory reset and that is not the correct in this case.

I will always love apple, but for the price point these headphones are nothing more special than any other. The sound quality is something I have to give props too, aswell as the ability to toggle noise cancellation. However, they do not stay put on your head very well. Not only that but they are bigger around smaller headed individuals.

Great sound, but some drawbacks. Only works with Apple environment, you can make it work with other non Apple products, but the experience won’t be the same. They feel heavy on the head. They are good for a isolated listening experience with your Apple products. Also, great for traveling on flights. They come with the Apple price tag.

I bought these for work thinking the microphone would be good to use for work in a busy office but i often got feedback that it sounded like i was underwater. The comfort was great, sound was great. The case is just dumb.

It is too big for my head and very heavy. The sound and noise canceling is great.

I've had a few issues since evidently the previous owner didn't remove Find My on them. They do sound good and they don't look used, but I've had to take them back a couple of times for repairs. I've not had brand new ones, so maybe they have the same issue. So far, Apple has helped out, but I'm thinking they may have to replace them with a new pair if the issue can't be resolved. The price was better, but it would probably be less trouble buying new ones.

Good headphones, but not really justified price with all the competitors. The sound quality is suberb and definitely will do great, but the features compared to the XM5s and Boses, just dosen't compete. I hope they make a v2 for the heaphones with more features.

I find myself using these once in a while and the noise quality is great

These should be considered straight used and not really refurbished. Box was barely intact, and headphones were noticeably dirty. It’s definitely rough for a “certififed” refurbished product. Ive seen other people complain that theyre getting pairs still connected to other peoples accounts which is insane. Only upside is that the headphones do function as intended (at least my pair does). But its certainly not worth it even for the reduced price point. If you can just wait for a sale and buy a new pair.

Even when they are original, it might come with a few details like the connectivity, could give you a lil bit hard time to make it.
