Have spent a few days with the device. It is definitely pricey, but from the user experience point of view, I am pretty happy with the device so far. Here are a few things: 1, The Face ID works well 99% of the time. Pretty responsive, too. For those with glasses I would suggest capture the FaceID with glasses off. 2, I like its front camera portrait mode. Could take much better selfies. The stage lighting portrait effect could use some improvement, though. The rear camera works better than the 8plus/7plus in low light situations, and generally provides greater contrast and details. 3, The size is just right. I feel the 8plus is too big, but this one is just about right. I do prefer the size if used without a case, but there's no way I am doing that. The phone has a sleek look and nice finish. Stainless steel frame gives it some extra shine. 4, It definitely needs a case to protect its fragile glass back. 5, the wireless charging is a plus. But it charges rather slowly, since I mostly use the iPad USB charger. 6, the OLED screen is gorgeous. Better images all together. Apple says it helps save battery life. I will see about that. Verdict: if you are on the fence between 8Plus/8 and X and have the extra budget to spare, go with the X.

My iPhone 6s was at the end of its life. I needed a new phone. I went back and forth between the 8 and the X after reading reviews and talking to a few folks who were in the same boat. Now that I have used it for a few weeks, I am okay with it. From an aesthetic point, the Samsung Note 8 screen shape and the way it looks. In comparison to my iPhone 6s, the X has a better looking screen and is fast, fast, fast in every app that it loads. The camera's photos look better and handles low light situations (indoors) better. I like the larger footprint of the screen. I haven't used the wireless recharging capability yet. Learning the new swipes and finger movements to navigate the phone took some getting used to but like everything new it becomes easier after the first few days. Being able to swipe between apps is useful and makes it easier if you cutting and pasting. Activating Siri vocally (Hey Siri) does not work for me all the time, which is frustrating if I am driving. All in all, I like the phone. However, I do not think it is worth $1K or $800 after my trade-in. Could I have enjoyed the iPhone 8, probably. I purchased the X because this is supposed to be the best and latest technology. As mentioned previously, I have a friend with the Note 8 which has a beautiful screen and they love their phone. Would I recommend, yes and no, but more yes. If you are an Apple person, buy it. At this price point, if you are an Android person, there is probably a phone in the Android universe for you.
