Brand new 1/144 scale model of the Arado E.555 Bomber Aircraft "Project Version" of the German Luftwaffe by Luft-X. This hand-painted resin model features a detailed exterior, true-to-scale detail, and comes with a display stand in the manufacturer’s original unopened packaging. It has no openings and measures approximately L-4.25 inches with a wingspan of 5.5 inches. The Arado E.555 I was one of the most ambitious designs proposed under Nazi Germany’s “Amerika Bomber” program during World War II. Conceived in the early 1940s by Arado, it was a flying wing jet bomber designed to deliver long-range strategic strikes, potentially reaching targets as far as New York. Powered by six BMW 003 turbojet engines at the rear, it promised high speeds and a range exceeding 4,000 miles, showcasing the rapid pace of German aeronautical innovation. Though never built, the E.555 reflected Germany’s growing desperation as the war turned against them, with its radical design surpassing other “Amerika Bomber” proposals. Technical limitations, resource shortages, and the deteriorating war situation kept it on the drawing board, but it remains one of the most iconic “Luft ’46” concepts, studied as an early precursor to postwar flying wing bombers like the Northrop YB-49 and B-2 Spirit.
