Q: How many cameras will this unit work?
A: One base can link 5 cameras before Arlo starts charging a monthly fee.
Q: Whats the difference between the old base and the new base. Please show photos.
A: This new base is very basic as it really only connects the cameras for viewing, there is no local storage or the siren on this base.
Q: What is the capacity of the included rechargeable battery?
A: I have this camera set of 3 and I have to charge them every day. Wish I hadn't purchased them.
A: Arlo Pro 2 uses its own base station that connects by Ethernet cable to your WiFi. Mounting the camera is easy. The cameras connect wirelessly to the base station. Camera image is pretty good, but, range from the base station is not great- maybe 30 feet max for a good connection. Get the Arlo app for your phone, the user interface is fine for basic functions- activate live view, review recordings and arm camera for motion detection. You have to pay for more features like longer recordings, cloud storage, motion detection area, etc. Battery life hasn’t been determined yet- I’ve only had it up for a week and a half and the battery is still good.

Q: Can I access video with my Android phone?
A: Yes, you'd have to download the Arlo app from the play store. The app is also where you set up and link the cameras to the Arlo base. The included instructions will guide you set by step.
Q: Can I use these cameras as add on cameras to an existing Arlo Pro 2 base that supports 3 cameras?
A: Yes. I have an Arlo pro 1 system(5 cameras) and recently replaced 2 cams with Arlo pro 2 cameras without having to upgrade to a paid subscription. They support Arlo pro 1, 2, 3 for up to 5 cameras for free.
