The monitor itself is stunning. It's my first OLED monitor and it blew me away. It makes my other IPS monitor. There's a few annoying things you'll have to deal with, however. The VRR flicker, much like any other OLED, will appear. I've gotten used to it, and in some games I barely even notice it. You can alleviate this issue in many different ways though. The second issue is the proximity sensor is weird. Sometimes when I'm still here, it will shut the monitor off. The last thing is rarely, the monitor will turn on and cycle through colors, which also is an easy fix, but happens every now and then. The purple tint is barely noticeable, and I am in a very bright room. I made one single adjustment to completely make it go away entirely, and even then, it wasn't much of a difference because the tint was barely noticeable in the first place. It's a gorgeous monitor. It's beautiful, and I am happy with it. Pricy, but at the expense of beauty.

Monitor is good, vivid and super fast and responsive but the ambient lightning really affect the back color output and where u editing something or wanna have a window open the colors seem affected.

Love Asus. Love this monitor. Looks amazing and performs great. Only annoying this is the popup for reminder to pixel clean which may be able to be turned off in the settings.

The monitor is great , it is very quick and easy to use. Too bad that the colors are way too saturated.

Love the monitor, everything looks great on it. My only grief is after doing a pixel clean, sometimes the screen comes back blurry and I’ll have to cycle it again. One time i had to do it 3 times for a total down time of 15ish minutes.

I really like this monitor. It's almost perfect! The only thing I wish was different is if it came with a 2.1 DP instead of the 1.4.

The ASUS - ROG Strix 27" 2K OLED 500Hz 0.03ms Gaming Monitor with G-SYNC/FreeSync and HDR (HDMI, DisplayPort) - Black is hands down without a doubt the prettiest Monitor I have ever hooked up to my computer. By prettiest, I mean the out of the box picture is so vibrant and beautiful that even just the opening background scenes in windows 11 are breathtaking! My video games have never looked so good. The Black levels are so dark without any sense of bloom like other display types have. I have heard that OLED screens weren't bright enough, but even in full daylight this screen was so bright on it's factory setting that I had to dim it down a bit. The dark shadows look so good in my games that I want to go back and replay some of my older games again just to see how much better they can look! The only couple of things I don't like about the monitor is that I had a really issue setting it up. Apparently if I turn on HDR in my desktop display options it overloads the monitor and it will turn all grainy and pastel, it took me quite a while and lots of googling online to find the issue. Also if I turn the display refresh rate up on the monitor the diplay resolution goes down to 1080p... also the highest refresh rate listed is not even close to 500 hz... I downloaded the software from the ASUS suport website, and a monitor widget as well, but when I open the download there is no exec file, just a driver. I haven't played around with updating drivers or switching settings around on my graphics card yet, but maybe I can get it sorted out in there after more troubleshooting and research. I downloaded the manual and it shows a whole list of options that I should be able to click on, but they don't show up in my monitors menu. The other thing I don't like is the big ugly control panel bump on the bottom of the monitor. It works great and is highly intuitive, however it's also in the way. I wanted to use this monitor as the center of a 3 monitor set up in portrait mode, but because of the stupid ugly bump this monitor can only be used as the left or right screen but not the center. I'm highly annoyed because of that... I wanted to use the OLED in the middle because it's the best screen, and use LEDs for the outside monitors.

This is an excellent monitor that is held back by the software that ASUS requires. The display is excellent, and I cannot complain in any fashion about that. The image is sharp, text is amazingly clear, and the colors are vibrant. Where ASUS seems to fall a bit short is on their software. It seems strange to say that about a monitor... When you look in the menu for the monitor, you see all of the normal controls that you would expect, but the color adjustment is grayed out. You cannot adjust the color at all. They require that you download their ASUS Display Widget software... Fine. You download and install and this opens up a few options like having a cross-hair for shooting games that is permanently on the screen. OK... You can adjust the warmth of the display, so you can make it bluer or more yellow/orange. OK. All other color adjustments are still grayed out. So, this software doesn't seem to do much of anything other than allow you to manipulate some more fine-grained panel maintenance settings like automatic dimming and pixel cleaning. Then there are the affirmative downsides of the software which make it almost impossible to move a window after it has been maximized. If you try to move a window that is too near the top of the screen, it will freeze up and only move a few pixels. This may actually cause the program you're trying to move to crash (at least it did for my File Explorer window).
