Why are all the build options only 16gb or 32 gb of ram... and why is the g16 only avaialble in a 5080 variant what happened to the 5090? Also 1tb nvme seems a little low for this price point
Answered by ASUS AnswersThis ROG Zephyrus G16 (GU606) limits RAM to 16GB or 32GB to save battery and reduce heat in its slim chassis. The 5090 is missing because of severe thermal limits, making the 5080 the maximum supported GPU. The 1TB NVMe SSD is used to keep the steep starting price somewhat under control.
Is there an additional nvme m.2 ssd slot? what is the maximum ssd capacity if the oritinal ssd is replaced or a 2nd ssd can be added? can additional ssd be double sided (chips on both sides) or only single sided as limited by the 2025 rog zephyrus gu505?

The original drive can be replaced, or a second SSD can be added to the free slot. Yes, double-sided SSDs (memory chips on both sides of the board) can be used for expansion.

Who's going to buy this at this price. 2025 was $3399 with a 2TB SSD.
