About This Item
Brand new 1/18 scale diecast car model of 1972 Dodge Demon GSS "Mecum Auctions" Petty Blue with Black Stripes "American Muscle" Series die cast model car by Auto World. This limited edition model comes in a brand new box, features real rubber tires, true-to-scale detail, and has steerable wheels. It is officially licensed, with opening hood, doors, and trunk, and is made of diecast metal with some plastic parts. The model showcases a detailed interior, exterior, and engine compartment, and is in the manufacturer’s original unopened packaging. Dimensions are approximately L-10.5, W-4, H-3 inches. The 1972 Demon 340 GSS was a rare Grand Spaulding Special built by Norm Kraus in Chicago, featuring a low-profile Paxton supercharger boosting the engine to 360 horsepower, creating a 13-second stoplight rocket on stock tires. This particular model represents the only known Demon GSS painted factory TB3 “Petty Blue,” with twin snorkel hood, black stripes, and black bucket interior. In 2022, Mecum Auctions offered this car at their annual Indianapolis Auction, where it sold for \$165,000, and its historic lot F112 can be viewed on Mecum Auctions’ YouTube channel.
