Q: Does the actual game console have to be on while using the backbone?

A: Yes! I leave my system in "Rest mode" so that can wake the system up when i use remote play.

A: The device itself extends out to 6.5 inches. The xperia has a stated height of 6.5in. The same as my phone. It fits but I have to insert it top first, usb connector last. No phone cases. With the extra balk it won't work

Amazing little device!!
I've been a gamer my entire life, and this little device is an awesome piece of technology! I was skeptical at first given that mobile gaming used to be clunky and awkward, often leading to shorter gaming sessions as the ergonomics of playing complex games on a phone were exhausting on the hands. Backbone's device remedies so many different problems that gamers on the go face today. First off, this thing is light and small. The controllers are about the same size as a switch controller, and they are very comfortable to hold in the hands. I've been able to use this device for extended periods of time without fatigue. The device has two rubber grip like pads, and a spring loaded center support bar, so it keeps a constant gentle pressure on your phone, ensuring that it does not slip or fall out while you are gaming. This is important, as I've found that I cannot fit my phone case in the Backbone device whilst using it, so I can rest assured in the solid retention this device has. There is also an Audio jack and a USB C port on the device, it works as a passthrough power device to my knowledge so you don't have to stop gaming while you charge. Next the buttons and sticks are of solid construction. The buttons are tactile, the thumb sticks feel snappy and responsive. The bumpers have "click" while the triggers do not. Overall they feel very solid and similar to other controllers on the market. Setting up the Backbone requires an App on your phone, and this will allow you to connect to your desired device whether it be Playstation, Xbox, or my preferred gaming platform, PC. I was able to use Steamlink, and was able to jump into a game straight away. Obviously the games best suited for this are games that are optimized for controllers, but you can technically access your entire Steam library if you wanted to. So, who is this device best suited for? People like me, who has a gaming set up at home, but no longer has the time to game all day at home. The gamer who is going to most benefit from this is the casual player. The regular joe, who has to work a regular job, but still has some down time during the day to play a round or two of COD. Maybe on a lunch break, in between classes, stuck in an airport, or maybe as a passenger on a long road trip. If this is a problem you face, then this is the perfect tool for your mobile gaming needs without breaking the bank.

Cool handheld controller
I give it a 4 stars bc it's me. It's a great phone gaming controller if ur more comfortable of holding controller when gaming than using ur fingers swiping. I'm already used to fingers but thought it would help me on some area in my game i play in like codm. It's a lil harder for me,a female but great for bigger hands but IMO its still great and at least it does what it was made to do and works good on codm if anyone who plays codm and looking for an alternative controller to use beside their own controller. I recommended it to a friend. Ps I was using a Samsung galaxy note 10+ 5g

Awesome Device
I had been waiting for the android version forever and now its finally arrived. Pretty awesome device lets you play your ps5 remotely on your phone. Also works for games on your phone. Pretty cool that it matches my Ps5 also
