A: I use three dishwasher products that the company recommends: FINISH Quantum tablets and FINISH Rinse Aid Jet Dry ( and FINISH Dishwasher cleaner once a week). I don't use any other products now because they do not work as well as the recommended ones. My dishes are cleaning and drying perfectly.
Q: Do you really see a difference with crystal dry. Is it worth the extra money
A: It’s hard to believe how hot this gets and how well it works. You have to wait a while before touching the dishes.... There is even a sanitize setting. I think it is well worth the money.
A: The flashing red light means you didn’t press the start button. Once you press the start button the flashing red light changes to a steady red light and your cycle begins normally. Anytime you open the door during a cycle the light flashes. Press the start button again to continue the cycle and close the door, your red light should stay steady and your cycle continues.
Q: does the Bosch have a water heater built in
A: Hi billybob, thank you for your question and interest in Model:SHXM78Z55N. Yes, Bosch dishwashers' flow-through water heaters increase water temperature inside the appliances, eliminating the need to pump hot water into them. The heaters can raise water temperature as high as 162 degrees Fahrenheit. In conventional dishwashers, water falls randomly onto a heater coil at the bottom of the appliances. These coils remain heated throughout the wash cycles, making them extremely hot. This often melts plastic items placed on the bottom racks. However, the Bosch dishwashers' flow-through water heater is confined, preventing its coils from damaging household items and ensuring water is heated more thoroughly. While traditional dishwashers only heat portions of the water that lands onto the coils, Bosch dishwashers heat 100 percent of the water that passes through its heating chamber between tightly spaced coils.
A: No. When it finishes its cleaning cycle, the "active" light goes off & the dishwasher powers down. If you're unsure if the dishes are clean - you have to examine them. There is no "all done" indicator.
Q: Does this have a hard food disposer?
A: Hi STEVEN. Thank you for your question. Model:SHXM78Z54N does not have a hard food disposer. All Bosch dishwashers utilize a Triple Filtration System. The Bosch® 3 part filter system is designed to prevent the need to pre-rinse normally attached food soils from your dishes. Simply scrape left over food soil off of dishware before loading. This process will conserve time, water and the energy require to heat your household water supply. Your dishwasher filter system is designed to filter 100% of the water entering the spray arms to provide a continuous supply of clean water to remove food soils from your dishware.
