The music sounds incredible, but the battery doesn’t last super long. About a year after owning it, I’ve had Bluetooth connectivity issues.

Bose speaker sounds good, but this will be the 3rd one of this model Luckily I purchased the warranty each time because right around 1 1/2 years the speaker gets to a point it either doesn't power down or the bluetooth no longer works or both. I am not buying the extended warranty this time around because thats almost $200 each time and if it does it again I will look at a different brand. Now about Best Buy service. It Sucks! Sorry, just being honest. I bought a replacement warranty, but this model in Black is sold only on the Best Buy website and it's it's from a 3rd party vendor so I had to pay another $30 after tax to get it replaced. If I would've got the gray model it would have been a straight trade. I had a Black one and I wanted a Black one, plain and simple. It's available on their website so if there was an additional cost I would think they should've paid it. I bought it, they offered it so done deal, but NO, I had to pay it. Not very good service since thats not how you advertise your replacement warranty when you sell it. And when they sold it to me I was supposed to get it in two days and it's been over two weeks and I still don't have it. All it been saying on the website is it's delayed with no update. This sucks because I used that speaker everyday when I'm getting ready. I feel for the price I can't recommend this product. Should last a lot longer. Like I said in four years I'm on my 3rd one.

Speaker is wonky. I don’t write reviews often and when I do they are almost exclusively positive. The issue I have with this speaker is twofold. First, the battery life is not all that it is advertised by Bose to be. On this point, after charging it to 100% for the first time, it somehow died after at max 2 hours of use. Since then, I have continued to be unimpressed by the battery life. I have also noticed extremely slow charge times, which I estimate are roughly twice as long as Bose advertises. I probably have a faulty product but I am too busy to go through some onerous process to ship in my product that’ll leave me without the product to use at all for who knows how long. My second issue has been connectivity. It’s too complicated. I know how to make it work, but it is too complicated. I’ve had some glitchy stuff occur that from perspective is a manufacturer issue, not user error. I’m pretty tech savvy and have extensive experience with A/V equipment, semiconductors, electronics, etc. Something just ain’t right. If I had to guess, Bose made this product to compete with similar Wi-Fi portable speakers such as those made by Sonos. Regardless of these two issues I decided to keep the Bose Portable speaker. Why? The sound quality is amazing. It is artful. I love the Bose Music app that allows me to customize the treble & base. if the battery life issue is specific to my product and assuming I will get around to submitting a warranty claim to Bose and hoping they quickly fix it, then I would easily rate this a 5 star device. Connectivity issues can be worked around, but a short lasting battery that takes 5+ hours to charge is a pretty big detractor and keeps me from being able to highly recommend this speaker.

I own 2 Resolve Plus speakers and they sound terrific, but their bluetooth range when streaming something from the app is unreliable. Nothing worse then having a get together and the a speaker or both speakers just stop when the phone is less that 30 feet from either. I like Bose, so I bought this wifi version of the Resolve and here are my thoughts on this product. It sounds "good", but by the quotes, I mean they sound really good for a portable speaker, but to my ears, they don't sound quite as good as the Resolve +. That said, being able to airplay to these without the 30 feet bluetooth limitation is great. I have to say a couple of bad things about Bose. Their app stinks. It is not nearly as seamless and reliable as the Sonos. I know from other reviews, many folks have had the same complaint, but the Bose app continues to be unreliable. But that's not the biggest problem with this speaker. The Biggest problem is the battery life. Take the 12 hours and cut that in half - 6 hours - tops. That't the real battery life. We had a get together and I had the speakers fully charges. They lasted from about 3pm to around 8pm and they both pooped out and complete stopped. No audible warning about battery running low, either. I'm a little disappointed in these speakers and think I will be returning them.

I initially have issues connecting the bluetooth/wireless feature. I attempted several times before I finally figured it out. One may assume it was user error but speaking frankly, the instructions are not crystal clear and if you are not tech savvy, then you may have issues as I did. Thereafter, it's okay. The volume isn't what I thought it would be and you have to choose either Google Assistant or Alexa. They both cannot be loaded at the same time....at least that is what I found to be true. But again, I'm not tech savvy but if they are, then that means the directions to do so are not crystal clear! And finally, ....there isn't a remote to control the volume! All in all, I would not recommend this product based off price.

Hi, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you enjoy the sound quality of the Bose Portable Smart Speaker, and we’d like to help you get the best performance from it.
While the speaker can last up to 12 hours when playing and up to 24 hours in standby mode, the rechargeable battery will drain slightly when the speaker is not in use, especially if Alexa or Google Assistant is connected, since the speaker continues listening for voice commands in standby mode. To conserve battery life, if you’re done listening and don’t need voice assistant functionality, press and hold the Power button for two seconds to fully power off the speaker. Please note that the speaker will not appear in the Bose app when it is fully powered off.
If you notice that the battery is draining faster than usual, our online guide has tips than can help improve battery life. You can view the guide here: https://bose.life/4bDLMi3
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we’re here to help you get the best performance from your speaker.

The design is easily held by my 5 year old; it is as convenient as it is luxurious in sound! It took about a week to figure out why the google assistant was not discovering my device; enterprise wireless to blame. After falling in love with the audio quality over bluetooth, my dismay came as I now have Google assistant set up correctly; alas the Bose speaker is not compatible with Google Play Music - my current ecosystem of choice. It will sadly go back.

I have purchased a speaker and it suddenly stopped working, no power was coming in. Luckily Bestbuy (which has always been great) replaced the speaker with a new one. The second one worked ok for a while and then started to act odd, the battery percentage was incorrectly stated and the speaker would not power up, I spent a lot of money hoping I would get the top in class. The sound is great, when it works!

The sound is clear and decent. I personally thought that it would have more Bass. I do not like the fact that when I turn the device on, it says it connects to my phone. But, when I play music it only plays on my phone. I go to my settings and it shows it is connected. I literally have to disconnect my phone and reconnect for my music to play through the device. The Battery doesn’t last as long as it suggests. It shuts off almost 3 hrs earlier. The clarity is nice, that’s the only positive thing I have experienced with this device.

I wanted to love this! Let me list the pros and cons: PROS: - Sound quality is fantastic!! - Style is excellent - Very well constructed - Very easy to setup CONS: - Alexa is MUCH slower on this when compared to Echo products - The microphone isn't as sensitive as we'd like. We can speak to Echo products, at a normal tone, from FAR away. That isn't the case with this speaker. We found ourselves having to repeat commands often

I have owned the the Bose soundlink 3 for 5 years and that speaker is wonderful. Good quality sound and only 1 button for it to instantly turn on and connect to my phone. This new speaker starts to speak to me after I turn it on, sometimes requires a few presses of the button for it to connect to my phone. Then It requires you to hold a button for it to turn off. A little too much going on here. The simplicity was much more convenient on older speakers.

Excellent sound that you expect from Bose. Slightly better than what you with Apple's original HomePod (Not the HomePod mini) and better than Sonos. Connectivity is not great. While it supports Airplay2, it does not always connect. I have to power off and power back on in order for it to display on the airplay network. Not sure why this is.
