If this didn't have a microphone feature, this would be an okay wireless headset... MICROPHONE I purchased this for video conferencing purposes. The microphone doesn't seem to be quality because my voice comes through very faint. I tried this for a video recording and played the video back to hear how I sounded. I also attempted to connect to my phone to speak to someone and they had a hard time hearing me. I wish there was a little mouthpiece that extended out from one of the cups. Or, they should think of adding a microphone to the cable that you can connect from the headset to your device in order to make it a wired experience. That might have worked really well. SILENCE The headset did a good job of blocking out outside noise. The only problem I had was that it actually produces its own white noise, static-like sound when the headset is turned on with no audio coming through, like if a video that I was listening to stopped playing. It was like a very faint skreeching noise. When I turned them off, the static sound stopped and it was truly scilent at that point. This was annoying because I don't want to have to turn off the headset everytime there is no audio for me to listen to and reboot it when I'm ready to hear audio again. COMFORT Oooh the headset ear cups felt sooo good in my hands. The material used felt very soft, so soft that I'll say that it was the best part of my experience. CONNECTIVITY I liked being able to switch from my ipod touch to my Mac to my Android phone. However, I was unable to connect to my Chromebook which was a major dissapointment. There is an app that needs to be downloaded to each of these devies for connectivity, and the app on my Chromebook never connected with the headset. Overall, I absolutely loved the design of the headset. The cups were perfectly designed. The Google Assistant worked. The sound quality was good. However, the microphone and connectifity needs some work to match the pricepoint.

The noise cancelling is pretty good, beautiful design, unfortunately they copied apple by not including a power brick and of all things included a very short and cheap micro USB cable. It’s insulting that a $300 pair of headphones would include a cheap cable that hasn’t had a design update since 2001. These are more comfortable than the Bose 700 noise cancelling headphones and the noise cancellation is equivalent for $80 less.

Bought this 5 months ago and the stitching/glue that held the ear cover on is already coming off. The sound and audio of this product is still amazing but I can’t tell you how annoying it is to have spent this much money on a headset that is going to be replaced soon if further damage occurs. As it will defeat then purpose of sound canceling and make it uncomfortable to wear. I didn’t buy the protection plan because I expected for this price point it would of lasted at least a year if not two. I’m a realist and realize these things can fail. But this is insanity! As a long term bestbuy customer I doubt I’ll be doing anything but amazon going forward.

When they are head and my head. But my phone is in my pants pocket while using I guess because of being to far the signal goes in and out while walking. I would have to bring my phone to my chest pocket to get better and clear signal.

I purchased both Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II headphones, and Sony’s WH-1000XM3, as these are considered 2 of the best over-ear Bluetooth headphones on the market. Let me tell you why I preferred the Sony’s. Bose: Let me start by saying I am comparing and rating these Bose vs another set of $350 headphones. If you are comparing your old $125 headphones, the Bose are going to be a huge step up, which is why I still give them 3 stars. I originally purchased Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II because they were hyped as being the best, had a reputable name with Bose, they are aesthetically good looking headphones, and they were on sale. For a $350 headphone, I was (surprisingly) underwhelmed with the sound, which for me trumps all other features in a pair of headphones. To keep it simple, the sound felt compressed. It wasn’t vibrant. It didn’t “wow” me. Don’t get me wrong, the notes and sounds were crystal clear. But that was the problem. It was just nice, very clear music. I turned up the volume on some of my favorite songs, and didn’t get goosebumps once. It was lacking a deep driving bass and reverberating highs, and the sound just didn’t seem to envelop you. Additionally, the noise cancelling gave me sort of a motion sickness/dizziness feeling, which I thought I was crazy, until I went online and found that it is a real thing. The Bose are extremely simple to connect and set up, and the physical buttons are easy to use. Once they are set up, there is no more customization. Some may find the simplicity nice, but I wanted to be able have some personalization. They are great looking headphones, and they are very comfortable to wear. But all that meant nothing to me if the sound wasn’t up-to-par. I returned the Bose the next day, and paid the extra $56 (because the Sony’s weren’t on sale) for the WH-1000XM3’s. And am I ever glad I did! SONY: These headphones are simply amazing. The sound they generate is everything the Bose is lacking; powerful base, strong mids, and vibrant highs that surround you and envelop you. These headphones immediately “wow’d” me, and I think more-so because I had just been disappointed with the Bose (which I was worried was the best I could get). Additionallly, the Sony’s have the ability to adjust an Equalizer through their app, and you can customize the sound even further (you can really drive the bass, or tone it way down). You can also manually adjust the noice cancelling (which is incredible and didn’t make me sick at all) in several different ways on the app, or allow it to automatically adjust depending on what the headphones are sensing (meaning if you go running, it will let in more ambient sounds automatically for safety). Of course this is all able to be turned on and off in the app. The sound is just larger, more encompassing, and better. You can get hard hitting, deep bass listening to rap, or hear the flute player taking a breath between notes listening to classical music. The Sony’s are a slightly larger, heavier, and more “obvious” aesthetically, but they are still very comfortable and hold their position nicely. I would much rather enjoy what I am listening to, than worry about how cool I look wearing them. There are a couple smaller features I liked better on the Bose (changing what device you are connected to on the Bose was easier), but without a doubt, Sony has more customizablity, and the sound is just plain superior to the Bose. If your primary goal is to find the best sounding headphones, then go with the Sony’s. You won’t be disappointed!

I purchased these headphones in 2019. I used them mostly to do my daily walks. The sound quality is fantastic, My low overall rating is for only the ear padding. It pulled away from the headphones in 2023! I am the only user and I am 67yrs old. I did nothing to make this happen. I want to purchase the new ones but afraid of the same outcome. The price is not a drop in the bucket! If this had not happen the overall rating would be 5 stars!

I was really expecting more when it comes to the world class noise canceling. I purchased these because they were supposed to be the best, and I wanted to see if they were worth going to Bose and customizing my own it’s $100 more. Their not. Noise canceling is pretty good way better than over rated neck candy like Beats, however at the same time I purchased Sony 1000x with them being on sale from $399 to $289. Both sets are comfortable for long trips Bose a little better but not for the price difference. The noise canceling on the Sony is better, sound quality is better the fact Bose has google assistance is ok, I use that as my noise canceling button. Sony 1000x is more convenient by cupping the right hear it lowers the music and allows you to communicate with out looking for the pause button, speaking of buttons Bose has Volume up and Down, Sony you glide your finger up and down, you can switch to ambient sound easily so you can hear any hazards around you if you’re walking down the street like traffic, Bose you can turn noise canceling down too through the application, and one of the buttons hidden by all of the other buttons. I travel 85% for work so I’m in an airport or air plane a lot to say the least. So while you can still get Sony 1000X for $228 jump on it!

I fell in love with these immediately, but have quickly lost a lot of my love for these. The good: these are super comfortable, the noise cancelling is outstanding, the sound quality of audio played in them is great, and the battery life is awesome. The bad: the lack of a constant connection. At first, these kept a great connection (between my iPad and my office PC), but nowadays using these are more of a frustration than a delight. I am constantly losing my connections to my devices and when I reset I am unable to hear any audio. I have tried updating, resetting, turning on/off, isolating to one connection, etc. on all my devices (Bose, computer, iPad, iPhone, etc.) This problem still intermittently persists. I am still optimistic that a solution can be found, but for such a hefty price tag I have to admit that I am not impressed.

They are very comfortable indeed, but that's not the only thing you are looking in a headphone, right?? I don't like the sound. It's too much neutral for me. No bass, no nice treble. They sound too low even at almost max volume. And the Bose Connect app doesn't allow you to EQ. Noise cancelling is quite good. But if you want a REALLY GOOD noice cancelling headphones, thath sound awesome and loud, that are comfortable, that have ton of options in the app to EQ, adjust ambient sound, nice touch controls and everlasting battery, look no more and get the SONY WH-1000XM3. Those are the best, by far! You won't regret it.

I bought these headphones because of the name. However, after some use I returned them. Let me explain why I bought them first. I bought them because Bose is known in the audio world for affordable consumer products. Their QC line has been phenomenal. With the current line, the build quality is wonderful. Not too snug and very comfortable. However, the sound quality was lacking. I think that the sound was muffled just a bit and there was a slight humming noise due to the noise cancellation feature. The only difference between the first QC 35 and QC 35 II, was a Google Assistant button. There is an app you can use to assign what the buttons do but that's about it. I found that the Google Assistant button was more of a gimmick and used it for NC options. Overall, the headphone is great but I returned these and bought the Sony 1000xm2 because of more features such as touch, sound quality, and the app enhances sound quality. Also, there was no hum from NC.

Positives: - crystal clear sound - I tried quite a few headphones in this price range and this was the most comfortable on my ears. VERY comfortable. - easy connectivity. Multiple devices possible. - noise cancellation works perfectly. Negatives: - NO Bass effect at all. Sound is clear but bass effect is quite poor. I didn’t enjoy the music. I returned the product. If you are a classical music guy or you use this just for radio/podcasts, this won’t bother you.

I've been a fan of Bose since the first moment I tried them out (about 12 years ago). I've purchased numerous products from them, but my favorite product line is the QuietComfort (QC for short). I started with the QC2, then later on I upgraded to the QC3 with the built-in battery. After having some battery problems (because it was a proprietary battery/charger), I decided removable batteries were the way to go for me, so I switched to the QC15 headphones, which were amazing (and are still my favorite Bose headphones). But then my new phone didn't have a headphone jack and I kept misplacing the 3.5mm headphone adapter, so I decided it was time to cave and switch to some bluetooth headphones. Naturally, I thought of Bose's QuietComfort bluetooth headphones, the QC35 (which is what this review is about), so I went down to Best Buy and bought myself a pair. Upon opening them, I realized the QC35 was going to be a little different. Below are my notes: Pros: - Same design/form factor as older QuietComfort Around Ear headphones - Nice carrying case - The built-in microphone for making phone calls (and the Google Personal Assistant) is very clear for the person you are talking to Cons: - Heavier than older QuietComfort headsets I have used (QC2, QC3, QC15) - Tighter head band, which has a better grip, but hurt my skull and gave me headaches every time I wore them - The app allows you to connect to two bluetooth devices at a time, but I noticed that I would have to manually disconnect the one I didn't want to listen on. For example, if I was switching from Spotify (on my phone) to Spotify (on my computer), I would have the headphones connected to both my computer and phone (via bluetooth). But if I stopped the audio on the bluetooth connection it had been playing through (my phone) and then I start playing the audio on the new bluetooth connection (my computer), the headphones would stay silent until I opened the app and manually disconnected the phone, upon which the headphones would turn the volume to 100% and then start playing the music from my computer, thus startling me and probably damaging my ear drums in the process - Higher level of noise cancelling functionality hurt my ear drums (it was like a vacuum was being turned on in my head), which leads to my next complaint: - After turning the noise cancelling down to a lower level that didn't hurt my ears, the next time I turned on the headphones they default back to the highest level of noise cancelling, thus forcing me to change it EVERY SINGLE TIME I turned on the headphones (which was quite a few times throughout the day) - The Google Assistant functionality has a lot of potential, but when I asked it to play an album or playlist, it would only pull that page up on my phone, but wouldn't start playing it. Even when I asked it to "press play", it responded saying that it couldn't play the songs and I would have to manually press the play button. Now this doesn't seem like a big deal, since that's what I'm used to, but the whole point of the Google Personal Assistant is to be able to do everything with only voice commands Conclusion: As the review title says, I really wanted to like these headphones, but they are just not right for me. Even if the vast majority of the problems I encountered were just software glitches that they can fix in the future, I'm not willing to wait months/years for them to fix the problems when I am paying a premium price for what should be a premium product. In the end, I had these headphones for about two weeks before returning them. I gave them numerous tries and was continuously reminded that they were not going to work for me. In the end, I switched to Sony's comparable pair of headphones, the WH1000XM2. While the Sony bluetooth headphones also have some software problems, they are at least comfortable to wear and don't give me headaches, so they'll have to do.

Hi, Noise cancelling is fine, audio quality is great, they are confortable, bluetooth connection was easy, just one thing I noticed that make me give it 3 stars, the audio cable provided either has very low quality or the connection on the headphone's is very fragile to contact because, the sound is similar to a 40 times cheaper earphone, if I try to move it a little the plug on the headphone set it may or may not work. maybe they are defective at that connection. I did not expect this on a high end device at 200dlls

Hi there LuvaBully,
Thank you for the review of the QC35 Series II headset. We're sorry to hear about the experience you had. We'd like to suggest a few steps you can do to help you enjoy them more. You mentioned that you had issues with the connection from your phone. We recommend that you try clearing the Bluetooth paired device list from the headset and your source device and re-establish the Bluetooth connection. For low audio experience, double check to make sure the volume is up on your source device, and check with the audio output settings within the media application. Worked as advertised. Noise canceling worked great. If you're not used to having something over your ears for long periods of time, you may not get used to it. You may not get used to other small details as well. If you like Google Assistant, great. Otherwise that feature may feel like a let-down, making you feel less good about your purchase. These are all probably acquired tastes. My low score simply reflects that the product may not feel right for everyone, especially at full price and especially in the face of competitors and alternate product form factors.

I've been a long time fan of Bose. I bought the QC35 II's for the wireless option as I already have the QC15's that work fine. Unfortunately during takeoff I heard quite a bit of chop and it seemed like the noise cancellation was struggling. I had the NC turned to max and was using them with a wired connection. I did the return flight with my QC15's and will be returning the QC35's - just don't seem to work for my application but perhaps others who don't want them specifically for flying might find them useful.

they sound great and are comfortable to wear. I do seem to have problems using the blue tooth to link to my Samsung TV and my Sony TV. Both TV's are smart TV's 65 inch approx. 1 year old each. I can not tell if it is a issue with the bose headphones or the TV's. I tend to think it is the bose headphones because I have not had a issue linking up via blue tooth with anything else and since each TV is a different manufacturer. The problem is that the TV's are showing that the headphone are connected yet there is no sound coming from the bose headphones. I found that I have to get into the TV menu each time and unpair the base headphones or disconnect then repair the headset again. It is a real pain to have to do this each time I want to use them. Since I got the headset at xmas time I have not researched the issue any further. Otherwise I would have given the headsets 5 stars. My apple ibuds and Samsung/Sony sounds bars that operate via blue tooth both appear to link up fine with no issues.

Neither the active noise cancelling nor the sound quality is as good as the original “wired,” Quiet Comfort headphones...which I still have luckily and LOVE. Too many compromises were made in the name of wireless/Bluetooth functionality. Although I am a bit of an “audiophile,” the sound difference is noticeable to even the undiscerning ear. I took them through the ultimate test, a 4 hour flight, and they did not work ANYWHERE NEAR as well as my wired quiet comforts in either noise cancellation or ultimate sound quality. Although they are still better than anything BEATs have ever made - in build quality, wearing comfort, and sound quality - they are still more of a $150 set of headphones than a $300 pair. If the price has dropped to $150 or below when you are reading this then they may be worth the purchase. Otherwise this life long BOSE fan was not impressed at all :-(

Got it on the black friday sale for $199. So far, I'm not as impressed as I was expecting. Absolutely very comfortable but I've heard your ears don't get hot wearing these for a long time but I don't find it to be true. The noise cancellation is good but I get a weird, dizzy sensation sometimes with it on. Bluetooth seems a bit spotty. There's a lag when connected to my computer (though it may be due to the computer not the headphones). I tried using it for work calls and seems to work great (sound is good and feedback on mic is that it sounds "good enough") BUT the mic stops working about 30 minutes into a call. Not good for work!
