These are probably the most comfortable cans you can get at the moment with the best ANC, best the software/firmware is its pitfall. One thing no reveiwers have mentioned is that while the ANC is at full strength when you first put on the headphones, it gradually decreases or as you would put it auto-ANC. This also happens when you take off the headset and put it back on. If you toggle the different modes within Bose apps, ANC will be back at full strength again, only for it to gradually decline and you can start hearing the noise. This "auto-ANC" feature is definitely one thats not desirable and can't be turned off.

Great Sound but incredibly terrible microphones still! The microphones cannot hear you outdoors if you’re trying to text or dictate anything on your phone it literally types the wrong words all the time. If you’re somewhere where it’s windy the noise cancellation doesn’t even work! The wind blows on the microphones and you hear it inside your headset so you cannot hear what you’re listening to! They’ve always had problems with the microphone but I figured the generation 2 was going to be better like everyone said it was going to be. I’m returning these and getting a headset that doesn’t have crap microphones. Their microphones basically have zero noise cancellation of their own. Also when the headset talks to you it sounds like a malfunctioning robot that’s whispering it’s so low you can barely hear it. Especially if it’s a notification of any kind. I’m shocked how bad it is for this amount of money.

Sound quality is great , I couldn’t really tell a difference between the noise cancellation between the Bose 700NC headphones and these second generation NC headphones. They are extremely bulky so if they could make them slimmer or less bulky that would have been much better . Also they have a motion feature that I really disliked when you look down the music you are hearing will turn off . Until you’re looking up again . This was really annoying when I was a the gym . But if you’re going to use them for only airplane rides and computer work then they are great not really for moving around

I've owned several Bose products over the years and as I write this I currently own 4, but these over the ear headphones is not one of them. I took them back and here's why. Latency. I bought these to replace an older set of QuiteComfort headphones I used when practicing on my electronic drums. Loved the sound my original set gave me and they lasted me well but I literally wore them out and needed a new set. I read the specs on this new set and was pleasantly surprised that they could still be used as wirelessly as well as bluetooth. Great! I need wired because the latency with bluetooth on a set of electronic drums makes them impossible to use. Well.. believe it or not when you plug these in hardwired you still get the same latency. Internally they must go through some of the same processing that the bluetooth part uses which makes them totally unusable for playing my drums through. I was really disappointed about that. Don't get me wrong, if you want a great sounding set of headphones and latency is not an issue then by all means these will suffice but if you're like me and have a different need that requires no latency then these are not what you want.

Just to warn people who may be prone to allergies when wearing music headphones. I wore the Ultra headset for a few hours and found myself having red skin around my ears, peeling skin after a few days, and a lot of itching. I've seen a doctor, and nwo waiting to see an allergist in Februrary. This happened to me only once in my life, with AirPods Max.

Hi, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We know how important comfort is when using headphones, and we’re truly sorry to hear about the reaction you had with the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen).
For awareness, the headphone cushions are made with protein leather, a synthetic material chosen for its soft, leather‑like feel and long‑lasting comfort. While many people find it gentle on the skin, we understand that sensitivities can vary, and it’s possible for some individuals to experience irritation.
If you'd like, replacing the cushions could be an optional step you might try to see if the reaction is isolated to that specific material. Otherwise, you’re welcome to contact us directly at https://bose.life/contactus and we’ll be glad to assist you further regarding your concern.
We appreciate you letting others know and hope your upcoming appointment with the allergist brings you clarity and relief.

Honestly prefer the gen 1 sound profile and the anc was already good so the slight improvement isn’t worth the upgrade if you currently have gen 1

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen). It’s totally valid to feel that way, many users grow attached to the sound signature of their original gear, and if the improvements in ANC and audio tuning don’t feel significant to you, sticking with Gen 1 makes sense. Thank you for sharing your feedback! The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) are obsessively engineered with our best noise cancellation and spatialized audio for immersive listening. Every note expands, every piece of dialogue hits harder, and every melody fills the space around you. Crafted with luxurious materials, they offer exceptional comfort and a premium design, perfect for long listening sessions. One standout feature is ActiveSense, which, when enabled in Aware Mode, automatically adjusts noise cancellation based on your environment’s noise level. This helps maintain consistent ambient sound awareness without letting loud interruptions, like a coffee grinder or blender, drown out your music.
The headphones also feature intuitive controls on the right earcup: a Bluetooth/power button, a multi-function button, and a capacitive volume/shortcut strip. These allow you to manage power, pairing, playback, calls, and listening modes. Additionally, on-head/off-head detection supports auto-pause, wake/sleep, and customizable auto-off settings via the Bose app. Altogether, these features make the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) a powerful and user-friendly choice for immersive audio experiences.
