Bose CustomTune technology automatically adapts audio performance to the listener’s ears, while adjustable active noise cancellation allows users to move between more isolated listening and awareness of surrounding sound. Updated ActiveSense technology in Aware Mode is designed to smooth sudden changes in environmental noise rather than allowing abrupt sounds to overpower playback. The headphones support Bose Immersive Audio, which spatializes compatible content to create a broader and more enveloping presentation. The second-generation model also introduces Cinema Mode, designed to enhance video playback with clearer dialogue and a more layered sense of space. Battery performance reaches up to approximately 30 hours with Immersive Audio off and up to 23 hours with Immersive Audio enabled. A 15-minute quick charge can provide up to approximately 3 hours of listening, or about 2 hours with Immersive Audio active. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours. The QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) also support USB-C digital audio, allowing compatible devices to send wired digital audio directly to the headphones. A traditional 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm analog audio cable is included for use with compatible wired sources. Wireless connectivity uses Bluetooth 5.4 with support for multipoint pairing. Up to eight devices can be stored in the headphone device list, while two compatible devices can remain actively connected at the same time. Snapdragon Sound support is also listed for compatible devices. The around-ear design uses removable protein-leather cushions with a combination of plastic, aluminum, and protein-leather materials.
