Their flexible cuff-style design rests outside the ear canal, allowing users to hear music and calls while remaining naturally aware of surrounding sounds. Bose combines this open design with OpenAudio technology, IP54 protection, Bluetooth 5.4, multipoint connectivity, SpeechClarity technology, physical controls, wireless charging, and up to 7 hours of battery life. The earbuds use a soft silicone cuffed band that flexes around the outer ear to provide a stable fit without sealing the ear canal. This design is intended to remain secure during higher-intensity movement while reducing the pressure associated with traditional in-ear earbuds. The construction uses polycarbonate and silicone materials for a lightweight feel. Bose OpenAudio technology directs sound toward the ear while maintaining an open acoustic design, letting environmental sounds remain audible. This makes the Sport Open Earbuds suitable for activities where awareness is important, including outdoor running, walking, cycling, gym training, and commuting. For calls, the earbuds incorporate two microphones and Bose SpeechClarity technology to improve voice pickup and intelligibility while the user is moving. Physical textured buttons provide direct control over music, calls, and volume and are designed to remain easy to operate even during workouts. The Sport Open Earbuds carry an IP54 rating, providing resistance to sweat, splashes, and dust. This higher level of dust protection makes them well suited to training environments and outdoor use. The silicone surfaces are also designed to be easy to wipe clean after activity. Battery life reaches up to approximately 7 hours per charge, while the charging case stores up to an additional 22 hours, providing up to approximately 29 hours of combined playback under standard conditions. A 10-minute quick charge can provide up to approximately 1.8 hours of additional playback, and the case supports wireless charging for convenient power replenishment. Wireless connectivity is provided through Bluetooth 5.4 with Bluetooth Low Energy support, an approximate 30-foot range, and multipoint connectivity. The Bose app provides access to customizable controls, EQ adjustments, and supported device settings.
