[PROS] Top Tier Build Quality: The construction of the Px8 is about as high-end as it gets. The nappa leather cushion feels plush and allows me to wear these headphones for an extended period (2hr+) without any irritation. The band gentle contours to my head and provides a snug fit. Usability: The B&W App is very straightforward in highlighting the controls and features of the headphones. The layout is very intuitive and not cluttered. All options are explained concisely. Effective Noise Cancellation: The Px8 does is extremely impressive in shielding out external noise. The headphones fit over the ears which provides the first layer of noise cancellation. However, the actual implementation blocks out outside sound even when my volume was well below 50%. Battery Life: Battery life is long. Unless my app is inflating the battery percentage, I've been able to heavily use these headphones daily without needing to recharge. Sound/Mic Quality: Music seems to sound more vibrant and crisper with these headphones. There seems to be some subtleties that I've managed to pick out compared to other alternatives which is a major plus. The mic is above average in its delivery, but is hampered by environmental noise. [CONS] Wear sensor instability: My experience with the intelligent playback control feature was so-so. There were times where the audio paused expectedly when I lifted my earcup. Other times, the headphones failed to trigger a pause in the audio playback. Pass Through Performance: I prioritized being able to hear external noise right below active noise cancellation (ANC). Despite the multiple mics and a lower music volume at the time, I still was unable to hear my spouse or even the television strongly as I would have preferred to. EQ Settings: The biggest drawback in this area is that the only adjustable audio settings is bass & treble. [CONCLUSION] I enjoy the Px8, and it works exceptionally well as a daily driver. It sounds great, and feels even better. It's top tier in feel and performance. I would highly recommend it.

Warning to those who buy this! The headphones have a break in period of about 1-2 days (2-4 hours of listening) so when you first get them give them a few days. Once you get past that you will hear things so clearly. Sound signature is about half way in between Bose QC and apple AirPods Max. What I mean by that is that it has the warmth of the Bose headphones without the muddy textures. On the flip side it has the sound accuracy of the AirPods Max but more of a record player warmth. USB-c to iPhone 15 is compatible, sound quality much better corded but still amazing over Bluetooth. Comfortable, not as heavy as AirPods Max, with better build quality. The only thing that is subpar is the noise cancelling. It’s enough to drown out plane noise but it’s no where near as good as Bose. That being said, if you value sound quality over noise cancellation, these are for you. Price isn’t great but customer service makes up for it. Overall if you are an audiophile they are great headphones, and A worth while upgrade to get away from the big 2 (Bose and apple)

These headphones made me realize that I am not an audiophile, and probably don’t want to be. I have had the Sony WH-1000XM3 for years and ADORE those headphones. I thought it was time for an upgrade and researched for hours, had super high hopes for the px8. When I started listening I could immediately understand the hype. The sound is incredibly clear and detailed. But I pretty much exclusively listen to EDM. And the bass was just not there for me. I didn’t FEEL the music. Many people complain about the bass being too high on these. Those people are audiophiles, and I guess I am a basshead. I had to turn up the volume for the bass to sound loud enough, but that would make my ears hurt. I returned them and got the Sennheiser M4. I will say these headphones sounded great for other genres. Radiohead sounds incredible in these headphones. You can hear every instrument super clearly. Get these if you are an audiophile. Save some money and get the Sony’s or Sennheiser M4 if you are a basshead like me!

When I first unboxed this, I did a stretch test and the headband started to fall apart as the middle of the headband split open from the seams. I tried to pop it back in, but when I stretch it again, it would pop out from the seam. This already gave me hesitation as they are $700, I would have thought the build quality was going to be flawless. In all honesty, the headband felt pretty cheap to me and not worth the $700 price tag. Beside the initial issue, everything else was great. The soundstage on these are fantastic. Notes are clear and warm. Unfortunately, there's only a 2 band EQ (bass/treble), so there's not much configuration you can do. I know if given a better EQ option, these would be top 3 for sure. So at first, I compared these with my AirPods Max and to be honest, the AirPods had a better soundstage. Though these have a warmer presence, the sound felt more like it was contained in a small space like a closet. There were times where it sounded muddy vs. the AirPods and that's with the default EQ settings. But I do feel that the clarity is better on these. The PX8 is 3 years old and I've read that there is a new version 2 model coming out this year. So I would wait for that one to come out as I am sure there will be improvements and more options.

Love the sleek design, comfort fit, appearance and color of the head phones. The bass in the p7 s3 is louder and more balanced than the McLaren version. It seem to jave louder treble. Over stars is 4.4 out of 5.

Sounds quality and physical appearance is great. The price is too high for what it is, especially when Px7 is less than half the price.

If you are looking for high quality materials and look in a headphone these are for you. The ANC is a work in progress for me and while big bass enthusiasts may not be happy, the soud quality is right up there with other high end headphones I own like Bose 700 and Ultra, Apple AirPods Mx, Sony xm500 and Sonos Ace.

[Employee of bestbuy] I really enjoyed the build quality and premium feel of these headphones. The sound is very balanced and overall flat. If you like a punchier bass response, look elsewhere.

the good: construction - These definitely look and feel like a premium set of headphones. Supple leather, satin metal finishes, solid construction with no creaks or squeaks. The design itself may not be for everyone, but they are certainly upper level quality. comfort - *Significantly* more comfortable than previous editions of this same headphone. The clamping force, the padded headband and the leather quality feel much better, especially over longer listening sessions. You won’t necessarily forget that you’re wearing them, but previous versions of this model were very close to unusable because of comfort issues. They’ve made massive improvements in this area. tactile buttons - So many wireless headphones use capacitive touch buttons, which are clumsy at best. The Px8 has tactile buttons, which are significantly easier to find and use, especially when not looking at them. sound quality - I’m including sound quality in both good and bad for this review. To elaborate, the sound quality isn’t necessarily bad, it’s just not a very good mix. Highs are substantially rolled off, low end is slightly on the boomy side, and sound stage is essentially missing…but otherwise these carbon cone drivers deliver really nice clarity. With the right tuning, these could really sound fantastic which, sadly, isn’t necessarily all that easy to do. There’s no app EQ, other than a *very* basic bass and treble slider. You can certainly hear the quality, but there’s just no excitement to the sound...no crispness or dynamic softs and louds. To some, this will be appealing. Those who prefer a much warmer sound may enjoy these immensely. They’re not fatiguing in any way, very easy to listen to over long periods. battery - Battery life has been outstanding, going beyond the 30 hours of usage in my testing. The quick charge is a nice tough as well. connectivity - So many wireless headphones are limited to one device at a time. These connected to both my laptop and my phone, and could transfer back and forth seamlessly. The aptX codec is a nice touch as well. ANC - Solid noise cancelling, though transparency was not great in my opinion. A bit of the dreaded ANC high pitched noise was still present. the bad: price - Significantly more expensive than most of their competitors. sound quality - See above…both good and bad, depending on your musical tastes. call quality - Call quality was just ok. Others I spoke to said it sounded almost like they were on speaker phone. app - The app isn’t quite ready for prime time yet. It is ok, but with headphones of this quality, an onboard EQ should be a no brainer, especially with the current tuning being so warm. misc: design - Some may find the “premium” design a bit over the top. overall: Overall these are *so* close to being 5 stars. With a proper EQ in the app I think they could be, even if things like sound stage can’t exactly be fixed, the sound signature certainly could be tweaked to take advantage of the quality and caliber of cones these actually possess. For that and the price point alone, unfortunately I have to go with 4.

I have been a fan of Bowers & Wilkins since I was a teenager. I have owned everything from their 600 through 800 series over the years. They have always represented well in the higher end audio community and offer a slightly brighter British sound than many of their counterparts in the market. The Px8 are the first pair of B&W headphones I have tried and not really what I was expecting from the storied brand. Immediately out of the box they check off all of the expectations one would have with headphones in this class: great aesthetics and well built. They really do feel first rate in your hands. From here though things took a bit of a turn. As soon as I put them on my head and adjusted them for fit the top of my head was irritated by the band. Yes, it is padded and made from leather so it wasn't that it was an oversight on Bowers part, but more that the band is just narrow enough that it was bothersome and would be an issue for longer use. Of course, that is on my head and it may be of no consequence to others. By comparison, my AirPods Max are definitely more comfortable for extended use. Clamping force was good and the Px8 felt secure and tight without the pressure making my eyeballs bulge. I paired the headphones to my iPhone and was off and running. I downloaded the accompanying app and went through the brief setup. Pretty standard stuff and after determining the Px8 were on the latest firmware I jumped out of the app and back to Apple Music. I listened to music for about an hour non-stop through the Px8. I tried it with noise cancelling on and off, as well as, in audio passthrough. The sound is warm and almost recessed by comparison to my AirPods Max. They don't seem as detailed which is partly due to the lack of brightness at the top end. It was an unusual experience as B&W speakers are very counter to that experience. The benefit here is that they may be less fatiguing for longer sessions. After listening to the Px8 for a bit I jumped back to my AirPods Max and was immediately struck by just how different the two sound. For my personal preference, I enjoy the AirPods over the Px8. This is an area where it really is personal preference. The bottomline is that the Px8 sound very good and are as hi-fi as one can get via bluetooth. The noise cancelling on the Px8 might be a touch better than the AirPods Max. Bowers implementation easily stands shoulder to shoulder with Bose, Sony, and Sennheiser in this department. The noise cancellation is excellent and should not be a concern. The audio passthrough I was much less impressed with. The AirPods Max are fantastic in this department and almost seem like you aren't wearing them at times. With passthrough enabled on the Px8 everything was still pretty quiet and almost muffled. While better than having everything turned off it was far from the experience it should have been. The headphones seem to have great battery life as I still haven't run them down since I got them and I have been putting several hours a day on them over the last week. The included carrying case is nice and robust and includes a small compartment for the USB-C charging cable that accompanies them. My biggest complaint is the price. Given the market they are competing in, I feel their peers are as good if not better in some areas for considerably less cost. I know when I am looking at B&W that there is an associated cost that goes with the brand, but in this case the upcharge is harder to reconcile. The AirPods Max are cheaper and equally well built, but maybe not as stylish. They are also considerably less expensive. If you are on an iPhone or in the Apple ecosystem they continue to be a no-brainers. The Px8 might suit Android users better, but Sony, Bose, and Sennheiser also have strong competition in the space. So, I can really only conclude the higher retail cost must be for the style. For me that is a tough sell, but for others may be an important factor that pushes them over the top. Overall, the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 are very nice and sound great, but the stiff competition makes them a tough sell at their asking price.

First off, I have to say how georgous these headphones are! The picture does them no justice. They are actually more red wine colored than the picture shows. These came in a super nice caryong case that far exceeded my expectations. Most over the ear headphones I have ever had just came in a soft bag or a case where they were loose, this had molded areas that the headphones fit snugly into in a nice zip up case thT matches the headphones. These were also super comfortable!! I could hardly even tell i was wearing them as the cushions are some kind of light weight memory foam. Overall, astetically it was clear to see these are high quantity. The sound was pretty good as well. There is noise canceling, pass through and off modes. The pass through mode allows you to also hear things around you more clearly while also still listening to music. I found this picked up some sounds better than others. When I was really playing with these my husband was driving my son around in his rc car. I could hear the sound of the powerwheel clear as day, but not voices when in this mode. Also the noise canceling seemed to be just ok. When music was playing, I couldn't hear anything but when it wasnt I could still hear my kiddos laughing and playing, while it was slightly muffled in comparison to the other 2 modes. The spund was quite impressive. I tried it with multiple types of music as well as just talking to people. One thing that was dissapointing however was the lack of EQ tunability. I downloaded the app to make ot easier to control. However, you can only adjust bass and trebel. Something else to note is that it says you can integrate their app to streaming apps however the list of compatible apps is short and doesnt include any of the most common ones. Batery life is quite good. The app does make set up and understanding all the buttons simple.
