BowFlex - SelectTech 2080 Barbell with Curl Bar - Black

Bowflex originally came out with this in 2020 but had to do a few tweaks to it to make it more sturdy. Fast forward to 2021, and the updated version is selling and it is a hit! SETUP: - As expected, the box it comes in is heavy! Its over 100 lbs, so make sure you are prepared for that aspect. - There is some setup you have to complete, which is essentially using a hex key to put some screws in. It was a little tedious but all in all it took be less than an hour to unbox and setup for use. PROS: - The 2080 is in really good shape! The bars are nice quality, the stand is sturdy, and the weights fit perfectly with each other. Overall I am quite happy with the build quality of this barbell set. - Switching weights is quite easy, the dial is smooth and makes from going to 20 lbs or 80 lbs pretty painless. - It is a huge benefit having a straight bar or a curl bar. Each bar provides different workouts you might do and different muscle groups you want to target. It’s just really nice to have that dual functionality. - I have done a few workouts with this and made sure to really put these to the test. So far, no complaints! The weights are really sturdy and the grip of the bar really makes it feel like a gym experience from your own home. CONS: - The ONLY downside in my opinion is that this comes with 80 lbs max out of the box, You can purchase an additional 40 lb upgrade (aka making it 120 lb max), but that upgrade costs ~$150. To me, the $550 price point of the SelectTech 2080 should mean it should come with that 40 lb upgrade, rather than buying it separately. BOTTOM LINE: - If you are looking for ways to improve your workouts at home, this will not let you down! It’s a high quality build, gives you a lot of workout options with the adjustable weights, and comes with a straight bar or curl bar. I’ve very pleased with the purchase and am glad Bowflex got it right with the 2021 model!

These are great. I paired this with the stand and it really completes my new home gym. I paired this with the dumbbells. I like that it comes with both straight and curved bar. I use for squats, lunges, curls… you name it!

I am a huge fan of the Bowflex line of weights and machines. I purchased the select tech barbell after using one of their cable machines for 2 years paired with the kettlebell. While I love cables, I found I needed a little iron to really harden and take it to the next level. Not enough weight? Even with just the 80lbs I’ve seen great gains in the form of hardening added muscle. In fact at my age (39) lighter weights with more reps keeps you hard, less sore and way less likely to be injured. Bowflex has really delivered with there line. Changing weights or bar is insanely simple, stress free. I really hope they get the company back on track because I look forward to more offerings.

I bought this to complete my in home gym. I’ll admit they are frustrating when lining them up to add weight but after some time and trail and error it became easier.

I can't believe i only now found this. I have the select tech dumbbells which i use almost every day for the past 5 years. The build quality on the dumbbells is top notch. I've been wanting to purchase a barbell/curl bar for years, but with limited space available in our apartment, I thought it would never be possible. Until this, I can't believe it took Bowflex this long to come up with the idea of using the same concept on barbells/Dumbbells. Anyway, the set is great, selecting the amount of weight you want is simple, just turn the dial. Swapping out the different bars is easy enough. It will take some time to get use to placing the bar down on weight holder. You can't just slam it down, you place it down. Once you hear a small click, you know it's in correctly and you can turn the dial to select more or less weights. You have to read the directions carefully, it took me about an hour or so to get everything screwed in correctly and the weights set properly on the weight holder. At first, the bar was not seating correctly so i couldn't select the weights. I realized i didn't push the weight plates all the way back against the back part of the weight holder. It was a little confusing, but once i read the directions a few times, it clicked and made sense.
