Sempiternal is the fourth studio album by British rock band Bring Me the Horizon, released worldwide on 1 April 2013 through RCA Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music, with a separate on 2 April 2013 in the United States and Canada via Epitaph Records. Written and recorded throughout 2012, the album marked a significant evolution in the band's sound, drawing from nu metal, electronic, ambient, and pop influences, and introduced Jordan Fish, formerly of Worship, on keyboards, while also being the first to feature Lee Malia performing both lead and rhythm guitar parts. The title Sempiternal derives from an archaic English term meaning Incheverlasting time,Inch originating from the Latin sempiternus, itself formed from semper and aeternum. The album spawned four singles-InchShadow Moses,Inch InchSleepwalking,Inch InchGo to Hell, for Heaven's Sake,Inch and InchCan You Feel My HeartInch-and achieved strong commercial success, debuting at No. 3 on the UK Albums Chart, topping the ARIA Charts in Australia, and reaching No. 11 on the US Billboard 200 with 27,522 first-week sales, making it the band's highest-charting U.S. until That's the Spirit in 2015; upon , Sempiternal was met with widespread critical acclaim.
