I absolutely love this thing! You don't have to be connected to your computer, you just turn it on and it scans right to the SD card (if that's how you want to use it), it scans in monochrome or color, jpg or pdf, one or two sided, it's WiFi, it shuts itself off, it has a rechargeable battery. Best Buy price matched my purchase at checkout, so I saved about $50. (cheaper online-their website).

This scanner is probably one of the best devices I've bought in some time. It is not only compact but it also allows me to scan in my documents to either an SD card or my computer with no fuss at all. I can scan via bluetooth or via USB. It also automatically scans color documents in color. I am a huge saver of documents which I typically scan and save to my Evernote account for easy access. The software in this scanner makes it so easy to scan and save to Evernote because it connects right to my account in two clicks. This scanner has allow me to not have to fuss with my big Cannon scanner just to save one piece of paper. GREAT scanner for sure and will HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I was looking for a scanner that was portable enough to carry with me when traveling. This does the job well on photos and papers that I want to keep copies of. WiFi stuff right to your computer or save it on the included SD card.

I was looking for an affordable mobile office solution for scanning documents. The companies I work for don't accept digital signatures so this scanner has been a godsend. You can directly connect to your computer through USB or use an SD card. Or like me I just use WiFi to connect my laptop to the scanner for immediate scanning. Also you can charge through a micro USB port so this is extremely mobile.

Windows & MAC compat, easy install & set up. Scanned docs, and old photos with not one problem. Pretty fast too! Have not tried the Mobile Device Scan feature...yet. Go for it, get your old photos scanned before the deteriorate any further. Duplex docs are no problem with the Brother 920DW

This scanner provides the best of both worlds. It scans independently of a computer and connected via WiFi or USB cable. When scanning independently jpg images or PDF documents are stored via the included 4GB SD card. When connected to a computer with Windows, MAC or Linux based operating system the image appears via direct scan drivers or the Brother BR receipts software. The only difficulty I've had is connecting with WiFi, which is likely due to my network. Very small footprint, light, and it charges when connected via USB - or take the rechargeable batteries out and pop them into your own wall charger.

Extremely portable and while the wifi isn't so efficient , just being able to store on your sd card and then view on ipad air via direct wifi connect or on your computer is awesome especially for a business that is document sign heavy!!!

I had a lot of photos from when I traveled and I wanted to get rid of the paper and have the photos available electronically. I had so much fun scanning. The scanner was so fast and easy to use and is small and the compact design is very convenient.

I cross shopped the Fujitsu Scan-Snap, but for much less money decided on the Brother DS-920DW. The duplex function was a must, and it works quite well in Black and white or color. The battery power makes it great when you don’t want to look for an outlet. The major downside for me is the clunky software. The hardware is great so far, but the software is extremely stripped. It doesn’t allow for editing and it took a bit to find out to set my scans up the way I want them. Great piece of hardware though.

For people my age, the ability to scan documents using something the size of a ruler was some real James Bond spy raft. The product works as advertised, easy to use and if you're able to understand working with PDF files, , you won't have any problems. Memory card transfer is easy.

Bought this so that I can upload signed contracts and email customers when Im not at my desk. QUality of the scan is great and it does it fast. Doesn't always work the best when plugged in via cable with my MAC operating system, but just put in a memory card and scan it to that first and then transfer it over, works perfectly.

I purchased this scanner primarily to scan receipts for business expenses while on the road, as well as other occasional documents. I had used a Neat portable scanner in the past and this functions similarly with some notable improvements. Epson also has their own software similar to Neat to use the OCR capabilities and enter them into a spreadsheet. It also has a clear sleeve for scanning wrinkled receipts. This is handy but sometimes cumbersome. This scanner will allow you to scan without being tethered to your computer, which is a very handy feature. I have not fully loaded the SD card this way yet so I can't speak to the capacity for storage. Software download and setup was typical Brother - complete and thorough but not without a glitch. It worked properly on second try.

I have been looking for a small portable scanner to begin digitizing years worth of printed photos, without having to lug them back and forth to a stationary scanner. The scan to sd card function makes this whole process a lot easier, as well as being able to feed the photos instead of putting one down on the glass, wait for the scan, then repeating the process. Saves so much time.

I gave this product a 4.0, only because to get wireless connection to function seems a bit tricky with my MacBook Pro. Over a great device, it holds its charge for quite a long time. I charged it upon opening about a month ago. About 30 scans and still 75% battery life still available. 4 GB memory card included (Sufficient Capacity) for my needsI. If you wish to use larger capacity card it must be first formatted. Seemed easy enough from directions included to format additional SD Cards. Easy slide lever to adjust scanner for 4X6 , 5X8 photos Din A4 and Standard U.S. page sizes.
